The structure of our planet is made of three main components. They are the atmosphere, the geosphere and the hydrosphere, in other words our planet are made up in three states: solid, liquid and gas. The geosphere is formed by three layers: the crust, mantle and the core. The crust is the outer layer of earth; there are some areas where it can be only 7 kilometers thick like in the mountains. The mantle is the second layer that is located just below the crust it has a liquid layer called the asthenosphere. Finally, the core is the third layer of the earth and is nearly 3,500 kilometers thick. But there is another layer called the lithosphere that is the most external zone of earth made up by the crust and the surface of the mantle. The lithosphere is composed of different parts that fit together , similar to a puzzle. Although there was a theory that explains how was the continents form.
