The school is located in Neumarkt, a charming town in southern Germany, rich in history and culture.

Through our collaboration, students and teachers from both schools engage in:

• Exciting exchange programs, allowing students to immerse themselves in new cultures and build lifelong friendships.

• Collaborative projects that explore shared topics such as sustainability, digital innovation, and European heritage.

• Opportunities to enhance language skills and develop key competencies such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

We look forward to continuing this enriching collaboration with Ostendorfer Gymnasium, building bridges across borders and creating unforgettable learning experiences.

Key Objectives:

• Develop Language Skills: Provide opportunities for students to improve their foreign language abilities by using them in real-life, authentic environments.

• Build Independence and Confidence: Empower students to be more self-reliant and confident in their abilities.

• Cultural Immersion: Offer firsthand experiences of another EU country’s culture.

• Promote Cultural Awareness: Foster understanding of cultural diversity within the EU and challenge stereotypes and prejudices.

• Support Disadvantaged Students: Provide students from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds with the chance to engage in immersive language learning.

• Teacher Development: Enable teachers to experience innovative teaching practices, broaden their pedagogical approaches, and gain insights into different EU school systems.

Expected Outcomes:
These efforts aim to foster a deeper motivation in students for learning foreign languages, both during and beyond their school years.

Campus facilities include on-site accommodation, dining services, agricultural fields, greenhouses, and proximity to Parc de la Gournerie for practical training. The school fosters a supportive, human-sized environment for academic and personal growth.

Through our partnership, students and staff from both schools participate in: 

- Engaging exchange programs that allow students to experience new cultures and form lasting friendships.   

- Joint projects focused on shared interests such as language learning, and French/Irish culture and heritage. 

- Opportunities to improve language abilities and strengthen essential skills such as teamwork, communication, and language awareness. 

We are excited to continue this valuable partnership with Lycée Jules Rieffel, fostering cross-cultural connections and providing memorable educational experiences. 

Students attended classes, exchanged ideas in the "Actions at My School" workshop, and explored cultural differences through the "Trailblazers Across Borders" session on Black women in Ireland and Germany. Exploring German school life, culture and traditions, and keeping daily learning logs helped them reflect on their progress.

This unforgettable experience broadened their horizons, built confidence, and strengthened international friendships. A huge thank you to Erasmus+ and our partner school in Germany!

This trip was one of the best I've ever been on. I met so many new people and had a completely different experience of school life. Everyone was so kind a welcoming. My French has definitely improved since this exchange and I would go back in a heartbeat. 

I learned a lot more French and made a lot of lifelong friends, I am a lot more responsible now!

Louise Kathlene Tomenio: "Before this trip, I found learning German difficult. However, being in Germany made me realise how useful it is to know another language.... Now, I feel more motivated to keep improving my German because I saw now it helps in real life situations... Before coming to Germany, I had some stereotypes in mind, like thinking that German people might be very aggressive, serious and strict. However, I found that they were actually very friendly and welcoming. The students I met were open-minded, helpful, and interested in learning about Ireland... Experiencing German culture was amazing. I loved seeing the historical buildings, trying German food, and learning about their traditions."
