I found that creating our own Autobiographical Narrative with Adobe Spark was a wonderful way to get to know our classmates. It's a great way to showcase our lives, cultures, and lives through a unique program. I will use this program and project in my future classroom to get to know my students better.

Watching the TED Talk with Ann Moore about the "Cowboy Code of Ethics" was a very insightful TED Talk. I will use these ethics in my future classroom. I will have my students create their own "Code #11" - something they will follow and live up to because they set the standard.

During our book circle projects, we were to peer review our classmates over their book circle presentations. One that stood out to me was the book, "Genius Hour". In the book, the teacher created "Passion Projects". There are 6 levels using the "6 Ps" - Passion, Pitch, Plan, Project, Product, and Presentation. This is a beneficial project to get kids engaged in something that they're interested in. Even though this wasn't my book, I found it very helpful for a future project.

Amy Olsen
Application for the Future: Reward System/Focusing on the Good
In my future classroom, I plan on using the idea of a reward system in my classroom. I will lay out my classroom expectations and rules and if expectations are met there will be a reward system of some kind depending on the age level. After watching Jill Wood’s Coffee Talk about Behaviorism, I will use rules in my classroom as well as a cut off for students to understand when they’ve gone too far.
I plan on using a point base system in my classroom. I have seen some classrooms use “House Points” to go with a theme – creating different “houses” for students to be a part of. The students can work together to build up points for individual awards or class rewards. Some rewards will include – free time, a break outside to go on a nature walk, eat lunch with a teacher, pajama day, no shoes only socks day. I will also do a class building relationship for the students to create goals to work towards to. When collaborating, they will have different ideas that I will. I want them to feel included in reward decision making.
I want my students to be motivated to succeed within my classroom. I want them to have goals and achieve those goals. Even simple projects to collaborative group projects, I want my students to be able to adapt to working in different environments. I want to focus on the good in the classroom instead of the negative. After watching Rita Pierson’s TED Talk, “Every Kid needs a Champion”, I felt so inspired. She gave an example of writing a plus two on a student’s paper instead of negative 18. She told them that they didn’t miss them all. I want my students to focus on the good in life and be the best they possibly can be.

https://www.ted.com/talks/rita_pierson_every_kid_needs_a_champion?language=en
