Let's go down memory lane to our most memorable experience in the classroom when were students. When was this? What made it so memorable? How did you feel and how do you feel now?

Primary School Experience

In Grade 3 our teacher gave us the opportunity to estimate the measurements of various items in the classroom - we spent quite a bit of time doing that and were then given the correct tools to compare the actual measurements with our estimations. We had so much fun and we were determined to get as close to the correct measurement as possible! I don't remember much about primary school, but this interactive session stands out.
Another element that brings back positive memories is when our teachers took us outside for lessons - there is something about being outside of the classroom that makes learning fun and easier to absorb. Because it was a traditional, conservative Afrikaans school in South Africa, anything out of the box was welcomed by us students!

This class was specifically memorable because we were asked to create stories about the experience of the enslaved. And I found it relatable because it was the first time I felt like I was acknowledge as an African in my learning.

One of the best and memorable experiences I had was during an acting course while I was in college. Our Professor's name was Mark Cryer and he insisted that we call him Mark. Mark was really true to himself and always had us laughing, even when the content of our monologue/scene was heavy. There is no particular moment that I recall, but I do remember that class being the one class I was always excited for. Mark always pushed you, and did not accept little effort. He moved around the class and allowed others to take lead in the class. He also gave us significant space to develop our own goals and how we would achieve them.

In middle school, the most interactive classes we had were with our geography teacher Mr. Sharma. Whenever he taught a lesson, he would ask us to keep our Atlas next to us and whenever he came across the name of a place he would randomly call out and ask us to find that place on the map. There was so much beautiful chaos in the class to be the first one to spot the place. We always used to look forward to his sessions and some of us were even motivated to read the lesson in advance and find all the landmarks mentioned in it so that we could get the badge of honor in class :)

The teacher acted like a voice of doom always changing the dynamic and making it more realistic, it made even more fun
