Fareedah " being kind makes people happy"

Alex " I'm kind to my mummy and help with my sister.

Denaio " I'm kind to my friends"

Amed " I'm kind when I ask people if they want to play"

Eden " I'm kind when I hold open the doors"

Ranveer " I show kindness by helping my friends"

A little bit of kindness goes a long way.

We talked about what being ready means and how we show it.

Alex: We need to be ready to learn

Bonnie: We get ready for lots of things

Ranveer: We show we are ready by listening

Fareedah: We get ready for work by getting our pencils ready.

Ahmed: We show ready by looking at the person speaking.

Emilia - we don't light them inside

Alex - we could wear gloves

Bonnie - we shouldn't touch the end

Ranveer- we must put it in water after we have finished.

Violet - we always need our mum's and dad's with us.

Eden "I'm sad because I feel tired"

Fareedah " Maybe you can have a nice bath and go to bed early tonight"

Alex "I'm sad because I miss mummy"

Amed" it's okay try to have fun and mum will pick you up later".

We used the 'Think-Pair-Share' strategy to discuss what Christmas means to me. We had lots of amazing answers! We extended our thoughts to ' does Christmas mean the same to everyone'

Throughout Cynefin we have shown excellent empathy, active listening and oracy skills.

We talked about the health benefits from yoga and practicing mindfulness daily. We listened to the story 'yoga bunny' and we were able to identify all the ways bunny and his yoga were able to help his friends 🐇❤️

We have listened and discussed ‘ The invisible boy’ written by Trudy Ludwig

From are understanding we have created comic strip empathy short stories

Eden: I'm grateful for my family

Amed: I'm grateful for my warm bed

Alex: I'm grateful for my kind friends

Edward: I'm grateful for my mum

Fareedah: I'm grateful for everything in my life

Ali: I'm grateful for school..

We ended the week making a group valentine's card with all the ways we can show love 💕

We then completed a group picture reflecting on all the things we have enjoyed learning about during the spring term. A popular one was the children enjoyed learning new songs in singing assembly

During Cynefin today the ⭐ Can Do Crew ⭐ talked about what gratitude means and how we can show it ❤️ we put all our thoughts and ideas into a group jar and then created our own. We know that expressing gratitude enhances our happiness and helps build positive friendships.

We used weather pictures to share our feelings today.

We started the session with scenarios and held a discussion about how the person was feeling ( putting ourselves in their shoes) and how we could of delt with the different situations.

Fareedah - I would have said I'm sorry I pushed you down the slide I was feeling excited but I won't do it again.

Eden - If I was jack I would be feeling sad that I lost the game and my friend was being mean to me.

Ranveer - If I was jacks friend I would have thought it's only a game we can try to win next time.

Alex - If I was Cam I'd be feeling sad, I would not push my friend down the slide I would wait my turn.

Fareedah - Cam might of been frightened to go down the slide.

Amed - If I upset my friends I would say sorry and help them to be happy again.

To finish the session we did a group poster on Empathy and how we show it ❤️

I'm so proud of the children in Can Do Crew. Their vocabulary is improving and they're trying so hard to come up with their own ideas instead of copying their friends ⭐

This helps us show EMPATHY for each other based on how we feel.

Amed: Nothing, I was just having fun with bubbles.

Fareedah: I was thinking about the bubbles floating up high.

Alex: I was thinking I like the bubbles

Eden: I was thinking there are lots and I like this.

Ranveer: I wasn't thinking about anything just blowing bubbles.

We discussed how the bubbles were a great distraction tool for our sadness and that there are other tools we can use when we need to regulate our emotions. We read the story ' in my heart' and practiced a few ways we can cope with feelings of sadness, anxiety and nervousness. We ended the session by checking out and everyone expressed they were happy and excited for the day ahead ❤️

We finished the session off by adding our names to our whiteboard heart to show that we feel happy and calm in school today ❤️🩵💚💗

We need to wait 26 days to see the shoots and plant them on into compost 🌱

They have discovered that the bins were removed because they weren't being used correctly. We set off on our mission to get clued up on how we can be recycling heroes 💪 We read the story 'Michael Recycle' who taught the lazy people of the town how they can recycle and how beneficial it is to our planet. We took on board the tips and started our mission with a litter pick 🗑️♻️

The children came up with some fantastic ideas, but agree that they struggle to put them into practice. We made our own problem solving wheels to help. They contributed lots of ways we can show friendship and kindness so made a tree to display these. I particularly loved the idea that we can make new friendships but still remain kind to everyone - that afternoon some of the children decided to try that out 😊
