I am Jillian Madison Jessee. I am eighteen years old. I’m a hard worker. I love to care for and help others. I see myself as a great friend to have around. I am overall an enjoyable person to be around.

I'm a little unsure about what kind of career I want but I have some ideas. I work at Whataburger and I know for sure I don't wanna work there forever. It honestly sucks. My dream career is to become a Kindergarten teacher. I really enjoy little kids. Kindergarten is where most students began their education. I would really like to impact their education and make a lasting impression on their educational journey.

One day I want to be able to settle down with someone I am hopelessly in love with. I want to have a happy marriage with someone. I want to be deeply intimate with my significant other. I would like to have a child of my own. I want my husband and me to both love that child unconditionally. I want to raise the child equally and not feel like one parent is doing more than the other. I want my child to feel happy and loved.

I want to be successful. I would like to see myself living a happy life. I want to be financially stable and have money whenever it is needed. I want to be able to provide for a family. I never want to feel like I have to work paycheck to paycheck.

My time management skills need improvement. I go by my school and work schedule. So on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays I have class until 9am-1pm. Tuesdays and Thursdays I attend school from 11am until 2pm. I have to be at work by four everyday. So getting my homework done isn't always a easy task. I will have to learn how to balance my school, work, and social life in a way where I have enough time to do all three.

I plan to do my absolute best in everything I do. I plan to get the best grade possible in this class. I'm looking forward on learning about new ways to manage stressful situations. I most likely need the most help keeping my academic career on track during challenging life obstacles. I want to accomplish completing my first year in college. It is really important for me to have a college education.

The color I was classified in was orange. Orange has many different personality traits including being straightforward, exciting, and unstructured. Someone who is considered as the color orange develops deep friendships by encouraging others. They enjoy talking with other people and have a strong concern for the wellbeing of others. This color works hard and always seeks the opportunity of achieving their goal by defeating any obstacles they come across.

On the True Color Test you assigned online I was categorized as the color Blue. My two results were two completely different colors. Unlike the orange group, the color blue expresses emotions more often. They both share the concern for others. Blues seek for meaning in their lives. They often tend to make decisions upon feelings instead of their brain.

I believe that each group differs in many ways but all have similar traits in someway. All groups have their own strengths and weaknesses but all find a way to accomplish their goals. The color Orange are free, spontaneous sprits. They have the ability to do multiple tasks at once while still being at ease. Oranges are organizational troubleshooters. While, Blue personalities have a loving and affectionate souls. Blues have the ability to persuade and cooperate with others. Blues are naturally good at team building.

In the assignment we did in class last Monday, we discussed how different color groups can work together. In an assignment where all different color personalities work together, they must find away how to work together to complete what was assigned. In order to accomplish the goal, they must listen and respect each other and their suggestions. Each and every person should be able to express their opinions without the feelings of judgement. In the process of accomplishing assignments with others you will most likely encounter conflict. Conflict can be eliminated by easy resolutions. By working as a team and letting everyone express their own thoughts and all agreeing as a team. By also having everyone respecting others and their ideas it will lead to a successful group. You must be helpful, open and communicative in a group assignment. By letting each person succeed in what they do best, will result in better working group. For example, letting someone that is more fitting to do the organization in the group instead of letting someone who is not. It is always important to have equal roles in the work and never make one feel like they are doing more work than another person. You can learn different skills from your peers while working together like how one comprehend things, their different learning techniques and organizational skills.

While taking a test I get a strong feeling of test anxiety. When I am about to take a test I am always afraid of failing, since I have a poor test history in previous years. I try to clear my mind as much as I can and only think what the test is on. Sometimes tests are a bit overwhelming. When preparing for a test I dress like I usually do because that's what I am comfortable in. I tend to take a few days going over the material. I like to make flashcards when studying. Flashcards helps with remembering the concept instead of studying passages from a textbook. I believe that I am pretty good at prepping for a test but it's just my test anxiety that needs to be worked on. To relieve my test anxiety I maintain a positive attitude. There is no benefit for negative thinking.

1. https://youtu.be/mh6vHoyBs58

Sprite came out with a commerual staring the rapper Drake. When making the commercial Drake said he wasn’t feeling it and stops recording, after he drinks a sip of Sprite he can then start to make music again. The fallacy in this commercial is called appeal to authority fallacy. They are trying to make us believe that if Drake drinks sprite then we should too. Sprite paid Drake to do the commercial. They benefited from the advertisement a loyal fan of Drake will want to buy the drink since Drake is drinking sprite in the ad. It is not convincing because unless you are a fan of Drake then it doesn’t appeal to everyone.

2. https://youtu.be/6dQRCOEeHaY

This commercial starts with students going back to school and the kid in the back with his mom asks “why can’t o dress like them.” This fallacy is called in the commercial the bandwagon fallacy. This fallacy shows since the cool kids are wearing clothes from old navy then the kid in the backseat should too. Old Navy benefited from the commercial by targeting a younger audience. Yes, this commercial is convincing because children want to be cool.

3. https://goo.gl/images/koxtNX

Unicef advertises a cute little girl standing with fake people. This ad is using appeal to emotion falllacy. They meaning of this ad is to tell people to adopt or donate to orphans who don’t have parents. They benefit from the commercial by helping orphans in need. Yes, this commercial is convincing because it pulls at the heart strings.

4. https://youtu.be/aq5gLYNmOXI

A commercial paid by “Uniquely Natural” introduces a line of all natural skin and hair products. They imply that their products are made 100% natural. This commercial is using appeal to nature fallacy. They benefit from this commercial by targeting people who are concern about the nature and if a product is natural or not. Yes because it targets people who care about nature.

5. https://goo.gl/images/QehGK4

Colgate, a company that produces toothpaste, released an as that meantions that their product is the number one brand recommended by dentists.

Emotional intelligence is the ability to identify and manage your own emotions and the emotions of other. My emotional strengths are motivation, emotional awareness, and persistence. I am very motivated when it comes to work and deadlines. Motivation is a very important skill a college student should have. Achieving, getting things done and getting good grades motivates me. Emotional awareness is the ability to identify and name one’s own emotions. I am able to read others emotions and get a conclusion by solving the problem based on the emotions I received from them. Persistence is another strength I have. Persistence students make forward progress through challenging situations.

A weakness I have is giving into someone. It is a big issue for me. I give in to going to hang out with friends than to study. Instead of doing the fun things, I could realize it’s also fun to get good grades.

Some people in your group are less motivated and would rather get a bad grade dragging the group down because they don’t care.

Why do I think group projects are such a large aspect of academia?

Group projects show how well you can work and communicate together with someone.Unreal life, more is done by groups than by individuals effort.

During the financial aid visit I learned more on how credit works. She explained to us that credit score is based upon how you pay your credit back. I tend to be careless when it comes to managing money. Not like I’m out of money and I don’t save any. Sometimes I spend a little more than I would have liked. To improve this habit I could make budges for gas, food and spending throughout the month.

Wow, this semester was hectic. The first of the semester was very good for me. I kept my grades up, I went to school and my mental health was stable. I still need to improve on how I use my time. I procrastinated everything. Which isn’t a good skill to have. Procrastination got the best of me this semester and my grades spilled up a bit. If i could go back in time, I would put a stress on when time needs to be done. I would also change how I was less motivated once the semester was over.

I work at Priority Nissan of Richmond. I am the evening sales receptionist. Each week I work about 30 hours, including working the weekends. Through the semester not including days off I work around 500 hours at Nissan. This kind of serive is needed to help customers and other organizations get in contact with who they want to speak with and help find an anwser to their question. There are many similarities between the customers of Nissan and I. One of them being wanted my questions being answered. While working at Nissan I have developed better communication and problem-solving skills. I have improve communication skills by talking to new people everyday. While answering phones at Nissan, I get many questions that I have to give an answer to. If I come across a question I can’t anwser, i transfer them to someone who can. I find that some people become fusterated at the littlest of things. For example, alot of people get upset that it takes way to long for their oil change, or their car payment a month is too high. These things are our out of hand. While working in costumer service there are always people who will be rude to you. More times than not, that person is having a bad day. To overcome things like that, always remember that it is not your fault.
