We think the thinking process is more important than result. If you want to make sure how the assignment comes from? You must need to know the thinking process, if you only depends on results, that really unfairly on grade student. Also the thinking process is the key difference between AI and human.

We will grade them by letting students know what differences or similarities between the essays generated by them and AIs, and ask them to compare these two articles so that they can learn from AIs. In terms of grading, if students can improve their writing skills after using AIs assistance in comparison with the previous one, we will give them a better score because they really absorb the knowledge from it.

We think the process of thinking is more important. If we only focus on the results, then even if we get the right answer, it doesn't mean we truly understand. Only through the thinking process can we develop the ability to solve problems.

Besides, if we only get the result, we can only solve a single problem, but the thinking process can be applied to different places and solve different problems.

We think the instructor should impose some specific regulations on the AI utilization. For instance, students can use any kinds of AI tools until the exams start, so that the instructor can truly know students' thoughts or ideas. Moreover, for some assignments like(programming) which have relatively standard answer, we believe the process how students finish the mission is more important than the standard answer.

We think it depends on how much you use AI on one work. For the whole tasks- 0. For some parts- 20%off. For just little assistance (like revise grammar)- it’s ok. There’s no need to be too serious on using AI to assist when doing the assignment.

Though we use the tool to get the results, the thinking process from ourselves, and how we chat or give the promt to AI are also important to our brainstorming.

We think it depends on how the students use AI and how many contents are refined and generated by AI. For example, if the students use AI 100% in their work, I would failed them. If the students use AI just for some creativity, thoughts, and refinement. I think it is fine and I would not deducted any points once they mark in their work they they have used AI for what purposes. In conclusion, how we grade the students depends on the manner and the proportion of using AI.

In a writing class…

If students use AI assistant: the full score will be less than90.
If students write on their own: the full score will be up to 100.
If the students use AI tools, there shouldn’t be any grammatical errors.

We think in addition to writing, the student should also give a presentation on the writing process and their thoughts. That way the teacher can also tell whether the student wrote it themselves or not.

In our opinion, we think the thinking process is more important than just focusing on the result. Although many situations in life focus on the results like the work that assigned by the manager, it is totally different when it comes to how the thinking process shape our thoughts. In the long run, self-thinking can train our mind and produce something more valuable than AI.
