My experience that I enjoy is having outdoor cooking with the handballers last year. We taught them how to dig the hole, start the fire and also roasting the food. We started off with digging the hole we took turns digging the hole. Afterwards we start the fire using the fire starter and twigs to make the fire last long and also using newspaper to continue the fire. We decided to make sandwich and the handballers provide us with marshmallows, fishball and crabstick. We wrap the foods with aluminium foil. After sometime roasting the food, we pick the food and start to open up to ensure that it cooked. We then eat together and we made each other a sandwich to eat

Last year's outdoor cooking with the handballers was quite fun and interesting. We taught them how to dig a hole using cangkul and how to start a fire. I enjoyed it because we get to share the food that we brought and cooked it together. The difficult part was when we had to build the fire. The fire starter did not catch the fire at first but after we put a lot of husks, the fire started to become big(?) It was an amazing experience to lead and teach the handballers. What i learnt from this experience is we get to have a great bonding time with other CCA mates. I hope to have more activities with the other CCA's.

The session with the handballer's was a great experience. One of the few things we did that i found enjoyable was when we were working together as a patrol to make the fire to last long in order to roast our food. It was difficult working together with the handballer's as it was their first time. They didnt know what to do to help to start a fire and took afew minutes before having the confidence to put the twigs in the fire. I also enjoyed eating together the mushroom soup and the food they brought. It was worrying as the fire didn't last long and there was insufficient time but we were able to get it done on time. Lastly, before the session ended, the handballer's took the time to teach us how to play handball. Although i was scared of balls being thrown to my face, I enjoyed spending time and learning how to throw a ball further in fast speed and playing the match with them. I also learned that teaching people with no experience cooking outdoors was time consuming and difficult but by explaining to them while setting up was easier. I am glad my seniors took the time to teach us the proper way to set up the fire and wont hesitate to help us out.

One of my experience during guides session was the outdoor cooking with the handballers .This experience was wonderful as we have learn lots of new thing from our guides seniors about outdoor cooking like how to set a good fire to last to the end of the cooking . I also enjoy digging hole for the fire with the cangkul and to set up the fire with all the twigs and kindlings that we pick from the park . Although we have a hard time to set up the fire but in the end we still able to have tasty food to eat . It wan fun and tired to be able to teach and lead the handballers about outdoor cooking . From this experience i learn to persevere as we keep trying to set up a fire

That day was really fun and interesting. Everyone was really cooperative and they did not argue on the job they were given to do espically noelle. She listened and did the job well. The handballers brought their own marshmallow and they tried to roast it over the fire ash. It was a hilarious sight to see. They blow the fire and it was really funny when they breathed in the smoke. I enjoyed the handball game the most. It was really amazing and funny. During the cooking my group and i cooked sausages, crabstick and fishballs too. i enjoyed the food and sharing them too.

Molly My experience was good with the handballers. I was told to give a briefing on outdoor cooking like safety and precautions. It was scary as I have a fear of speaking in front of big groups of people I do not know however I still managed to do it. First, we did turfing, it was manageable and was not a big problem. Trying to start and maintain the fire was very difficult as it rained in the morning so the soil was damp thus it was hard to sustain the fire, we ran out of twigs, kindlings and husk as we used a lot trying to maintain the fire to cook the food. Overall, it was a fun and different experience for me in CCA and I hope to have more of this kind of activities.

my experience with the handballers was a fruitful one. I enjoyed this experience because not only we can teach them how to do outdoor cooking, they also taught us how to play handball. I found starting the fire difficult as it was constantly extinguishing and it wasn't strong and stable enough to grill our kebabs on. I had a sense of satisfaction after leading the handballers as we taught them a useful skill that hopefully will come in handy for them in the future(such as starting a fire from twigs and kindlings and wrapping food in foil to 'bake'. )I learnt that we can always learn more things and absorb more knowledge by teaching and helping others. the handballers learnt how to do outdoor cooking and I learnt how to play handball

This year’s outdoor cooking with the handball team was quite satisfying . I enjoyed talking with the handball members and working together with them. They were very cooperative and friendly. I hope we could have more activities that involve two or more CCAs, or external people. I found it quite difficult to start the fire for cooking as we usually only hold outdoor cooking twice or thrice a year-perhaps we should have a practice session learning how to maintain a fire? It wasn't a challenge to teach the handball members as they were willing to work together so we took turns digging the hole. Afterwards, they first observed us collecting twigs and fanning the fire and did the same. I learned from this experience that it is important for a team to cooperate. Only will then our work will be efficient and better.

I enjoyed bonding with my members and teaching them more in depth about outdoor cooking. I find it difficult when my members and the handballers did not listen to the leaders and they get very distracted with other groups. Fortunately, they are very enthusiastic as they get to learn new stuffs and take turns when the other members are tired. I've learnt that I have to be very patient as I'm hot-tempered. I’m thankful to have this experience with my batch as this is a very rare opportunity for me when I grow up. I hope to have this kind of experience despite the difficulties.

I enjoyed interacting with the handballers as it was the first time we got to collaborate with a sports CCA and I gained insight on handball. One of the difficulties I faced was attempting to teach the handballers how to cook. It was tough as we ourselves had a hard time trying to start the fire since it was a windy day and the fire kept going out. As a result, they got bored and started to wander off. Teaching the handballers outdoor cooking allowed me to strengthen my friendship with them as we ate together and bonded over food. Finally, I learnt how to be resilient through setting up the fire despite the weather. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to more collaborations.

I fully enjoyed planning what to cook with my patrol and making a chicken sandwich with my patrol and the handballers. Keeping the fire aflame was extremely difficult as the wind was very strong and the fire extinguished easily. Leading and teaching the handballers was relatively easy as they were able to get the gist of it although they were afraid of going near the flame. I fully enjoyed the experience and I hope we can have more sessions with other CCA’s.

The outdoor cooking session was a very fun and interesting experience as we got to do it with the handballers, as well as them teaching us Handball in return. We guided them by showing them how to dig a hole, start a fire with some twigs and pangs, and keeping the fire going. Two difficulties my group and I faced was the starting of fire and the food being either not cooked completely or burnt. The flames kept going out and we had to take turns to constantly fan it. My arms were really sore at the end of the day. Some of the food, such as sausages and fishballs were really delicious while some were not so edible. However, I enjoyed bonding over this. Leading and teaching the handballers was alright as I tried my best and got them to participate in some areas. It wasn’t an issue to get them to help out as they were open to try new things. Some things I have learnt from this session is to be adaptable to changes like when we decided to cook some of the food that the handballers brought instead of ours and to persist even when my arms were in pain and I felt dizzy. I hope we can have these sort of sessions again soon!
