         <description><![CDATA[<div>The teacher's implementation of the curriculum will definitely vary, leaving inconsistencies across grade levels. From the start, this is why it is important to gather together a group of diverse educators with different philosophies, knowledge and styles of teaching when it is time for the curriculum planning. These teachers ultimately should serve as a representation of the whole and should be chosen carefully, as to consider the "unique blend of persons, each with different skills, knowledge, experience, and personality" (Olivia &amp; Gordon, 2013, p.69) that make up the school staff.<br>(Katilin)</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The role of hidden curriculum is a crucial component of the design stage. The hidden curriculum must be taken into consideration when designing the curriculum cycle. Specifically, teachers within the same grade and subject area, may have a different emphasis on modeling and reasoning in math. They may understand the meanings or interpretation differently. Teachers may have different values on the importance of the skill. Academic expectations created by teachers often communicate messages to students which can have an unintended or negative effect on students (“Hidden Curriculum,” 2015).<br>(Lauren)</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I believe the most difficult aspects of the Curriculum Development Cycle as outlined by Wiles in, <em>Leading Curriculum Development</em>, is the design stage. Specifically, prioritizing goals for a project could become a hot topic among your curriculum development team of teachers... As an administrator leading this curriculum imitative I would not want to tell my committee what to prioritize but rather have them decide what they believe should be of importance during this design stage. I think they would need to take ownership and delve into which digital tools are most useful. Olivia and Gordon, in <em>Developing the Curriculum,</em>state that “experience over a long period of time has demonstrated that top down approaches do not work well as a rule.” (p. 27) …The reason I find this stage so difficult is because I foresee teachers who will not only disagree on what goals and targets are considered priorities but will be adamant that their way is best. Some teachers (even veteran teachers) may not be willing to change their traditional approach. <br>(Lara)</div>]]></description>
