Today we was in the green screen room where yo begin with we did a relaxation warm-up. If i was to improve in this task i would maybe stretch before hand as my body felt uncomfatable. My strength in this activity was feeling relief and release of tension in my body. After that we did more tongue twisters which warmed up our vocals. I feel i have improved as this time i didn't fail as much.
Shortly after this we was put into small groups of 2 with a short script and read the lines in our pairs with a neutral composure and understanding in our characters. Then Chris gave us a piece of a line to pick out so we could have some backstory for the characters and situations.
We did three of these. Our first was my partner was late to cook dinner. I approached this performance as a 'gay' male who has had enough of the relationship and is going to end with a break-up. In the second i was a hairdresser waiting for an OAP to do their hair but they was late. On this performance we went for a comedic affect. The last one was two partners with one being a cheat and the other finding out about this. My strengths in these pieces was line learning, movement on stage and character on accent. The theme me and my partner used doing this exercise was gay as we was two lads with these scenario's. My weakness in this exercise was personality and refined speach.
We had a short but when we came back to do the 'magic if' in which we sat in a room and listened to a scenario and what our natural instincts would be. Our scenario was a terrorist attack at college and in which we was given gas masks. My interpretation was put the mask on and try to get out of the building so i ran towards a fire exit making sure everyone else was safe as well. Then we sat in a pitch black room in a circle and was given an object that we had to believe had importance and we carefully handled them and passed them around when in reality it was like a stapler and we pretended it was an ancient weapon ornament.
My strength in this excercise was visioing the objects as we was told as they were and saw though the actual look of them. My weakness is this exercise was maybe taking the task more in depth maybe by questioning the object and using the object properly and describe them more with the senses.

Objective Acting- 2nd October

Today we was in green screen room where to begin with we did a relaxation warm-up. I felt in this warm-up i felt more relaxed than the week before. Another strength i feel is that my body gets relaxed more during the laying down exercise.
Shortly after we was walking in the space and was given questions and activities. There was 5 of them. The first one was to clap. the second was to touch the floor. The third was to shout 'I'm pickle Rick' and the fourth was to hug a classmate. we did this for the warm-up and when we got good at it Chris gave us a fifth one that was to site on the floor and he did this faster and faster shouting out the number then we turned it into a quick game until there was one last player remaining. Soon after we did a tongue twister exercise where we emphasised the phrases with raw emotion at first but then progressively move our mouths more to show full prononciation in each letter and word. My strength was that I could say most of the tongue twisters without fail. My weakness is that my mouth expression wasnt wide enough as i felt i could do so next time I could try better.
Today's objective was to learn the characters objective in an improvisation piece. My objective was to get out of the store in the quickest way possible. My character was a 40 year old man who has a wife and kids, has gone shopping however an explosion blew the shops rubble down onto his leg breaking and trapping it. My strength in this activity was that i showed off the pain well on my leg. My weakness is this activity and what i thrive to improve in the future is that i needed to emphasise what i needed to do more as i needed to get out of the shop so i should have been shouting to people what do to more so my objective was complete.
Soon after this we was given our play called Stags and Hens where we was given our roles. My role is Billy. He is a character who tends to follow the crowd and there opinions so he can fit in with conversations. In my opinion i feel i was given this role as it might challenge me to act this way and also he is a funny sort of character and i find myself stronger in comedy.

Today we was in the green screen room where we began with we did a relaxation warm-up. If i was to improve in this task i would maybe stretch before hand as my body felt uncomfortable. My strength in this activity was feeling relief and release of tension in my body. After that we did more tongue twisters which warmed up our vocals. I feel i have improved as this time i didn't fail as much. We also played on the floor and was read a relaxation monologue to calm ourselves down and pretended we was on a beach.
Then we was separated into out groups the boys and the girls. My group, the boys, sat in a circle together and out teacher gave us our characters. My character was Billy. After recognising the characters we sat together and read the script with the appropriate lines together. At first we just read the scene we was going to perform with no emotion just so we can understand the lines and characters as well as knowing how the scene would play out. Following on from that we then read the script with character and act of emotion. This helped us understand the approach to some of the lines. My strengths in this lesson was mainly just reading the lines and with humorous emotion added. This helped discover my characters sense of understanding in the piece as well as getting used to expressing the lines. My weaknesses include when i looked away form the script i would sometimes loose my place so the flow would sometimes be interrupted so next time have full focus on what the task is and also maybe add tone and try out different accents and everything to my voice for the character and explore with stuff until i find what i feel suits my character the best.

In todays lesson me and my group finished marking what each of our characters objective was in each section of the piece. After i did this now i could re read over the script and be able to pick out what I'm motivated to do in each section and have my character now developed.
After this we did a group activity in which out teacher led which was character development. What we did was walk around the room in character to see how our character would walk in everyday life. i decided my character would walk around the room very as if clueless to whats going on and trying to walk faster to catchup to people to see what they are doing and then to walk an opposite way. My strengths in this lesson i felt were finding my characters posture and essentially his guests and attitude towards others and his surroundings which will have a big factor towards my performance. I feel that i could of improved on figuring out my characters objective and fleshed it out more to show understanding in each unit as my character is not just subtle but needs to be seen by the audience by his daft movements. my target for next time is to re read the script next time before practise and be able to fully understand what my character wants

At the beginning of the lesson we initiated with a quick warm-up game of 7's, hunger fames and wah. my strengths in the warm-up was lasting very long into the top 3. Where i could improve next time is giving more enthusiasm to actually warm myself up instead of it just being a game.
During rehearsals today i felt that my group had a few problems with blocking one another when delivering lines and doing stage directions when other characters are doing there lines. This was a problem as we would tend to get in the way of actors trying to show facial expressions and posture towards attitudes of other characters. My strengths for todays lesson i believed was being able to listen to directors notes and being able to take them n board and then show the improvements in the piece. An area i could possibly improve next time is realising if I'm about to block someone and move out of the way and to remember all my lines and placements of props. My target for next week is to learn my lines fully and be able to not block anyone when they are speaking whilst I'm doing my stage directions.

Today was the day of our performance and me and my group decided the best way to calm ourselves was by doing a group warmup of tongue twisters and and 7's so that our body and expressions were on point reading for our performance. me and my group but one all stuck to our plane and brought in costumes for our piece which made our performance look even more real.
Strengths of our group and myself doing this is making us feel like we are in our characters shoes and also warming up so we don't have any speech errors in our performance.
In my opinion i felt my group did amazing especially under the pressure as i felt that the official run through was the best one we ever did. All the directors notes, planning and training all came into play and it finalised quite nicely. I feel my strengths in this performance was being my "character" for example when performing i made sure i was clueless to what was going on and also do stuff in the back ground such as using a urinal or washing my hands. How i could further improve my piece is maybe looking scruffier with my suit and maybe toning my voice more clueless and i felt that maybe could be improved however overall i feel like me and my group did an excellent job.

Throughout this assignment brief during some lessons i found myself stronger in than others and towards the final production i feel that overall i could have although improved but was actually quite well done during the group piece. During this assingment i feel that my strenghts were sometimes clearly shown such as when we did the method acting lesson i felt that I personally could find myself and the character and perform them as then shown later on when we did our performance. Also i felt that i progressingly got better and the script work and then putting it to stage later on quite quickly and our group compared to the other was off script 3 weeks before. Also i felt like throughout i progressivly got better at my diaphram work where i could vocally express my words louder and more clear. Following on from this I felt like my facial expressions were quite on point as at some points they were blank to give a comedic affect to the audience and other times they were scared so i would emphasise my eyes and squish up my face to show i was uncomfortable.
My weaknesses on this assingments was maybe not focusing alot on voice and i feel that i could improve its grittyness and tone however depending on the lines as at the beginning of the performance my character might be seen as trying to follow everyone trying to be intimidating however soon after his voice could then soften as to what I was doing through the performance. Also maybe our group could make transitioning more fluent.
I feel what helped me towards the performance in lesson was the objective acting lesson. As this is the one i had to try and pick on and worked on in my spare time. Thus helped me able to fulfil my characters role in the end performance as i trained myself to be more of an outcast character so then it felt natural in the end performance. The reason i did this in my own time was because i felt that i had not managed to get my character. I felt i managed to have self discipline in most of the tasks such as rehearsals and script learning as i managed to get these done quite fast and get the hang of it. However, i felt like some tasks such as some warmups and group excersizes i didn't really want to get involved in as i either felt embarrassed or i was too tired to try hard or sometimes i would even lose concentration so punctually i felt like next time i would need to have full focus all the time and not slack or even sometimes come in a few minutes late to lesson distracting others accidentally. Lastly also managing my times writing up notes and handing in some work could be done earlier instead of most nights before or just last minute in general.
Long term goals i could consider is carrying on my research for character development like we did in lesson.
