I chose this background for my project for a few reasons . First,Most of Lilly's Crossing is set at Gram's house on stilts,over the Atlantic ocean.I also thought this background was fitting ,as Lily and Albert say that the will swim to France.

I was very surprised when I was reading Lily's crossing. I did not expect Albert to try and swim to Ruth.

I think that when Albert tried to swim to Ruth it shows that he is lonely and feels responsible for her being left behind in France.Ruth is the only family he has left.
