-When Terry was in the hospital amputating his right leg he saw cancer patients, many of them were kids at the hospital
-Terry couldn’t believe these young children were going through this much pain
-So, he decides to run across Canada to fundraise for cancer research
-Terry wanted to make a change for the good                    
-Terry wanted ever Canadian to donate 1 dollar for cancer research to get 1 million for research
-He did the marathon of hope to fundraise the money
-On April 12, 1980, in St. John’s Newfoundland Terry begins his marathon
-143 days later on September 14, Terry was forced to stop running due to cancer appearing in his lungs
-On June 28, 1981, Terry passes away sadly

There many roads, schools and a mountain named after Terry. The biggest change of them all is that the Terry Fox Foundation has made 800 million dollars. All that money is used for cancer research and it’s for the good. In 2007, they have launched the TFRI (The Terry Fox Research Institute. “The Institute seeks to improve significantly the outcomes of cancer research for the patient through a highly collaborative, team-oriented, milestone-based approach to research that will enable discoveries to translate quickly into practical solutions for cancer patients worldwide.”  All of the stats for money invested, cancer researchers and cancer institutions have increased every year.
