This quote caught my attention because it relates to a problem I'm dealing with now. I only want to go to college to become a nurse and earn enough money to help my family. I don't want to be a nurse. I don't want to spend four more years of school after I graduate high school. I'm not happy with what I'll be doing for the rest of my life. Money is making me do things I don't like in order to go on living. "Be the change you wish to see."  If you tell someone to do this or that because it's better, you have to lead by example to inspire others to do the same. For me this is the quote that caught my attention. This relates to me because sometimes I need to not worry about money and just do things because life is not long. Life is meant to be fun but we all worry and do things that will keep financially stable and miserable instead of doing exciting things that make us live in the moment.

This quote makes me think a lot on how I live my life. I take hard classes and do good in school because I'm worried on getting money in the future, but it isn't what I am passionate about. I would much rather pursue my dream as a sort of actor or to just have fun and still get paid for it. I would love to go out and have fun with my friends and be paid for it, but that isn't always possible.

I believe what the author is trying to say with that quote is how your life could be so much better if you spent it doing the things you like instead of doing the things you don't like that will end up making you feel miserable. I couldn't agree more, considering I feel miserable every time I do something or am forced to do something I don't like.

This quote caught my attention because it points out the truth. People stress over getting a job that pays well even though you don't like it and from a young age children are told they need to get a "good job". Watts explains how a person living an unhappy life is wasting their time. This quote makes me think about how important it is to do what you want to do
and purse happiness; whatever that may be. Watts opens up the eyes of people, making us think about what we have done with our life and what we want to do. It makes me want to make sure that I live my life doing anything and everything that brings me happiness.

This quote gave me the chills. I can honestly say this quote has so much power because its not only talking about the length of life, its also talking about the choices in life. Its a possibility for you not to be able to live tomorrow. The choices you make in your every day life should be made with consideration to the fact that you may not be here tomorrow. Something my mother would say is to never plan tomorrow because things unplanned tend to become more enjoyable and much more appreciated. With ease I am able to combine my mothers words and Alan Watts quote because there both giving the message of living in the present and not worrying about the future for you do not know if you will be taking a breath tomorrow.

When most people answer the question "what would you do if money did not exists", people tend to answer with material things or traveling, etc. But a point that Watts makes is, there will still be jobs that have to been done even if there is no money. Many people tend to pick a career based on how much money they will make. What career would you pick if money did not exists? Many people who are artists or writers have not been one all of their life because you are not always certain which one of your pieces will make money and which ones people might not necessarily like. People interpret things based on what they have experienced so they might not understand your art and then you are not making any money on it. He makes it a point to say "...but as everyone knows, you can't earn money that way." This is him saying you will get money but not enough for you to live off of.
