I am so excited to be your child's 1st Grade teacher for the 2025-26 school year! 

In the last 19 years, I have had some great experiences teaching in the USA, Korea, and now Cambodia. 

I am from Michigan, USA and met my husband while attending Ozark Christian College and Missouri Southern State University in Missouri (2004). We have been involved with youth and international church ministries together for many years and we currently manage a dormitory program featuring Christian discipleship, education, and career training for college-age students. 

I enjoy playing with my 3 children (ages 9, 11 and 19), running, swimming, reading, learning, and drinking coffee. 

I have been in Cambodia for over 8 years now and I am looking forward to teaching your children in Grade 1!

Students should please arrive by 7:50 and go to the gym; Dismissal is at 3:10; please pick up your child on the field. (All children should be pick up no later than 3:30).

Jesus taught his disciples that children are valuable and blessed inheritors of His kingdom. It is a privilege and significant responsibility to be a teacher. I will prayerfully guide my students to develop spiritually, socially, emotionally, and academically. I will give them knowledge and strategies to help them understand and love the world that God has made.

I view parents as valued partners as we mutually encourage the development of their child in the home and at school. I am grateful for parent feedback and involvement.

Discipline Approach:

Students will be encouraged towards behavior that supports a positive and safe environment for all learners. Miss Koneka and I will teach and model these behaviors daily. If a child demonstrates unkind or unsafe behavior, Miss Koneka or I will have a discussion with the child to help him or her understand better choices and actions. We try not to take away recess time as it is best to have children play. If there is an area of concern related to a consistent pattern of misbehavior, I will contact the parent through a note home or email. Please follow up with your child at home with discussion and appropriate discipline if necessary. Kindness and respect is taught in the home and we practice it at school. Thank you for your support!
