Some connections between economic benefits and deforestation are when people cut down trees for agricultural purposes. They are making room for fields and pastures but people are also getting rid of the forests that we need. As said in the article, "Rain forests are crucial to the health of the entire planet." If we cut down to many trees, there will not be enough oxygen and we will eventually run out of lumber. Even though people make money off of these jobs, the jobs they are performing are not helping the environment. Trees are also used for heating and cooking purposes. When trees are cut down, animals homes are destroyed and these animals have the chance of becoming extinct. These are just a few examples of the connections between deforestation and economic benefits.

Excellent job, Bridget!!!
10/10 klm

When forests are destroyed, their are economic losses and gains. For example, the heavily destroyed forests in Brazil have made them the "worlds second-largest producer of beef and soy". However, the same deforestation has displaced indigenous people of the Amazon Rain forest, a financial loss for thousands. A few peoples greed has displaced and essentially robbed tons of people. Another cause of deforestation is fire, which is a loss for anyone who lives in and around the forest. People who live in the rain forest are displaced/killed, and the people who are clearing the land have their work done for them. These are just a few examples of how deforestation has affected the financial world.

Great work, Clary!!
klm 10/10

When people cut down trees, it could be for economic benefits. An economic benefit is agriculture. When forests are destroyed, there are benefits to some people, and its non-beneficial to some as well. People who cut down trees (deforestation) benefit from this. They get money from growing crops on the new land they just received from cutting down the trees when they sell the crops. But for some, it could destroy their homes (animals), or the people cutting down trees could trespass peoples private land. The people that get profits from deforestation are glad with it, but some are not. This is just one way deforestation and economic benefits connect.

Excellent job, Isabella!!
10/10 klm

Cutting down forests by the thousands can absolutely have terrible outcomes, but there also is a gain. When forests are removed for construction there is room to build then, but then when forests are removed, so are animals homes. Another example is cutting down trees for logging. Logging occurs for many reasons such as construction, firewood, and etc. These are all a "positive gain" in our eyes now, but in the long run this could hurt us badly in fact it is already. We release Co2 into the atmosphere, trees absorb this oxygen, and we are all fine. But without trees because eventually we are going to cut trees down to the point where there are not enough trees to absorb the constant releasing of gasses, global warming sets in. It has already to begin to now. There are good and bad consequences to deforestation.

Good work, Cameron! Make sure to mention the phrase "economic benefits" though.
9/5/10

If people cut down too many trees, we will run out of clean air in the world, and there will be no more habitats for animals to live in, but people continue to do it for the money. In a money hungry society, there is nothing we can do about it. Economic benefits can be made by deforestation, but that does not mean it is a good thing.

Awesome job, Will!
10/10 klm
