In my opinion, the book was a good read. I grew attached to Holden and I liked his personality. Holden is a very troubled kid. The story begins at Holdens boarding school, Pencey Prep. As a reader, you can automatically tell he doesn't like staying there due to his view on the other students. On top of that, he doesn't really care too much about his grades. As a result, Holden got kicked out of Pencey because he's failing too many subjects. Before his parents get notified, he decides to ride a train into the city and stay there for a few nights. Throughout his adventure he comes into many conflicts.
