I just wanted to share my memories of your special day. I must say though my memories are a bit hazy; due of course to it being 10 years ago and nothing to do with the baby Guinness shots we were drinking!

Let's start with the night before: Gert, Helena and I headed out for a drink the night before the wedding and who should we bump into but Sean! We had a couple of drinks with him, Gert fixed his TV in his room and we went home to get our beauty sleep for the next day. All very civilised. 

The ceremony: The Gallies were running late! We almost walked into the church after you guys but did a quick sprint to get seated before Catrina made her entrance. Sorry about that. 

Beauties: The wedding party looked amazing! The boys in their tails, the girls in that rich red colour and Catrina, such a stunning bride.

The Speeches: Your Dad's speech was very funny, especially the bit about the doors! We all thought he was of course talking about the band. Maybe it was funnier for everyone else Catrina?!

Well we didn't expect to be name dropped in the best man's speech! Especially being blamed for his hangover!!!

And Lee's speech, short but so powerful. It broke all our hearts all over again

The first dance: I don't remember the song but I do remember how beautiful you both looked. I remember you giving each other a look and walking out of the reception together. You left without a word, only a last glance and wave over your shoulder. It was both a stunning moment but so sad at the same time. 

The dancing: So mum wanted to dance and Eva was the lucky volunteer! It didn't last very long and Eva came and sat down beside me and said "I stood on Mum's foot and she called me Clumsy"!!! So that was the end of their spinning, I mean dancing!

A few minutes later Caoimhe got Mark up to dance with her. As he was walking to the dance floor, Mark turned to us and said "You wanna see clumsy"!!

Baby Guinness: speaking of McClaff, I think the reason the rest of the night was hazy was because someone started buying rounds of baby Guinness! And someone else was right there with her buying more!! (Me & Caoimhe for anyone that doesn't get that)

Obligatory ties around the head: Well I think Gert started that again! So the less said about that the better. But I need to make a special mention to Mr Kieran Gallagher who also partook - there is photographic evidence

The sing off: now this is where it gets very hazy but there was a sing off at the end of the night between the English cousins and the Downings crew! I'm not sure who started it or why but it was very funny! I didn't know half the words and was just miming along to the songs - reminiscent of the choir on Sundays! Needless to say we won! (I don't think it's true but these are my memories so no one can dispute them)

The walk home: so on the way home I was walking through Father Gallagher's shortcut. As it was very muddy and my shoes got stuck in the mud and I fell over. (Nothing to do with the aforementioned baby Guinness!) Helena took one look at me and walked off and looked at Gert as if to say - she's your problem! Ha ha!

So those are my memories of your special day. I know some of them you know and some might be new to you. It really was a very special day. So happy anniversary you two. We all love you loads and know that the beginning wasn't easy. Let's hope the next 10 years bring way more ups than downs!
