heat is when molecules of any kind of atom get more energy they get faster and bump off each other and that is what we call heat. you can cause heat by friction. for example when you rub sticks together you create friction and that makes a fire and the fire is a source of heat. if 2 things tuch together the heat goes from the hotter one to the colder one. heat is not the same thing as temperature but they are related.

When molecules get more energy in them than before, they move faster and bump into each-other. this is what makes heat. heat is a form of energy. temperature measures how fast the molecules are moving. heat moves in 3 different ways: conduction (if you touch something hot the heat travells through your body), radiation (feeling heat in heat waves) and convection. (feeling heat without touching it). it's also formed by friction.
