How to introduce the shaker to babies

Firstly i would grab the shaker and start shaking it, it would get their attention.

I would probably sing “if you’re happy and you know it clap your hands” then shake the shaker.

Some of the older babies would know how to shake it to the song while the younger babies would need some help.

Usually when the educators say “shake shake shake” they know what it means and they go ahead and shake the shaker.

I would grab the shaker and gather the toddlers and sit in a circle and sing a song and start shaking the shaker and let the toddlers follow along

How would I introduce shaker to infants/toddlers?

I’d sit them in a circle and have the shaker in my hands and ask if they’d like to sing a song. Babies love head shoulders knees and toes so I’d shake it to show them what to do during singing the song.

I would show it to the babies, shake it a few times, so they hear the noise it makes and how my arm is moving. I would repeat “Shake, Shake, Shake!” In a happy or excited tone. I would probably let them use it while singing “If you are happy and you know it!”

I would like to introduce a song called “what’s your favourite colour” to all infants in Arctic Willow Child Development Centre, a fun way to remember a favourite colour they like, making it easier to remember any and all colours. By starting off the song I would read it them and repeat a couple times until they get the rhythm. Using a drum with two colours on each side of the drum, have one child holding the drum and singing the colour they like or chose. And then, on to the next child.
