There are a lot of Hippos, Mountains, and Gorillas here. The park has had many tragedies including poaching, hunting, and illegal mining. In 2010, the Dominican Republic government had 85% of the park searched to find oil and see what it was doing to the environment of the park. A lot of the oil is underneath a pond, but it's not causing any harm to wildlife.
