At the beginning of her research journey, it is clear that she is able to see the inequities and wants to bring light to those. Then, she transitions into developing a sense of autonomy where courage and "forge ahead" mentality abound. She encourages her audiences to speak for themselves and to declare their physical and academic presence. Then, she moves into a place of advocacy. She encourages her readers to challenge the status quo and begins engaging in politics and openly advocating for activism. And now, her work has a sense of leaving a legacy and preparing others for the work.


    I wonder, is this the arc for most researchers? To recognize inequities and then work to tell the story of the inequity and to advocate for those within that story and then to equip others to do the same?
