Personal Insight: Personally, I would prefer not to see artificial intelligence being used in films. I believe we should rely on our own creativity since that is what makes storytelling and cinema unique. AI may make things easier but it takes away from the passion and creativity of producing movies and telling that story. Filmmaking is about human expression, and implementing AI appears to have the potential to change this.

Challenges: Presents risks of misinformation, privacy breaches, and potential misuse for harmful intentions.

Personal Insight: The use of deepfake technology in AI creates serious ethical concerns. Although it serves creative purposes, it frequently confuses the line between truth and fictions. The ability to replicate an person without their permission raises important concerns about privacy, consent, and the risk of harm. Also, many will lose their job and income which will eventually affect the economy.

Benefits: AI produces fast music production and gives fans the opportunity to experience their favorite artists performing new, old, or AI generated custom songs.

Challenges : Include concerns regarding copyright, authenticity, and the potential depreciation of human artistry due to AI-generated songs.

Personal Insight: Although artificial intelligence can enhance music creation, it could also transform music into something robotic which lacks emotional depth that comes from human creativity, which wouldn't be positive since many people use music to express themselves. It also raises concerns about copyright and the possibility that artificial intelligence would eventually replace real artists.

However, these improvements raise substantial ethical concerns. The development of deepfakes, for example, might confuse the distinction between truth and fiction, allowing for manipulation and disinformation which can ruin's someone reputation. For instance, a deepfake can completely change the words of what someone said in a video. Furthermore, copyright infringement are expected to occur when AI replicates an artist's work without consent, possibly jeopardizing creators' rights.

AI has the ability to change entertainment, but it must be utilized correctly. Clear restrictions are required to protect human artists, ensure data privacy, and avoid the exploitation of AI technology. In my opinion, AI should supplement and improve human creativity rather than replace it, and ethical norms must be established to assure justice and respect for the the artists.

In my Padlet wall, I will cover specific AI applications in entertainment, including deepfake technology to create digital versions/replicas of actors and AI-generated music that mimics famous artists' voices. I will also discuss AI’s impact on film production as well as the future expectations and societal impact of AI in the industry.

What excites me most about AI in entertainment is its potential to push creative norms. For instance, AI could recreate scenes with an actor’s face after they’ve passed away or generate songs in an artist’s voice without their content. However, there are ethical concerns. How do we protect actors' rights? What happens to the authenticity of an actor’s or artist's work if their face or voice is used without consent? These questions made AI’s role in entertainment a subject I wanted to explore further. Additionally, I believe AI can only be pushed as far as humans allow.

Moreover, deepfake technology raises privacy issues, as it allows for the replication of an individual's face or voice without their consent. This may result in the exploitation or manipulation of one's face, body, or voice. Additionally, content generated by AI has the potential to perpetuate existing biases, therefore limiting diverse representation in media. There will also be no connection to the viewer because AI does not know how to development emotions nor can it relate to humans. Therefore there will also be a gap or since of displacement.

The societal impacts lead me to be concerned of AI's involvement in entertainment. Although AI presents exciting opportunities, such as fast production and cutting on cost, it is important to address these concerns to ensure that its application does not infringe on individuals' rights. AI should enhance, rather than replace human creativity, and it is essential to establish ethical guidelines that promote fairness, safeguard privacy, and preserve job opportunities within the entertainment industry.
