how and why did my family come to the US??

my dads family came to the US (Oklahoma) when he was 2 and they came from Korea. they moved because they wanted a better life here. my mom came to the US when she was in her 20's with her friends they first lived in LA then moved to Hawaii. she moved to the US also to have a better life and because her friends all wanted to travel so that's what they did! they both came by plane.

what were the obstacles that they met??

some obstacles my dads family had when they moved is definitely the language barrier and getting jobs but they ended up opening a liquor store and my grandma sold it a few years ago. a obstacle for my mom was also definitely the language barrier and because she didn't move with her parents she was on her own with her friends only who also only knew how to speak Korean. because my mom came when she was a lot older after she graduated she didn't have the chance to learn English but once I graduate she's probably going to take classes.

what was going on historically in the US during this time and did it affect your family??

i don't know it anything happened during both of the times they were in the US but they survived if anything was going on.
