The cinematography chooses to frame it in an over-the-shoulder shot, but he chooses to focus on the backside of Wallace’s head instead of the face of Butch. By doing that he forces us to focus on that bald head, with the mysterious bandaid, and wonder what the guy looks like. It’s such an effective way to suggest the mystery and danger surrounding Marcellus Wallace. Also, saying that this guy is a complete badass if the camera isn't even going to show his face. As if to say "you don't want to mess with this guy". This is the only kind of shot I have ever seen in a film. Where the viewer can't see the front side of the face but only the back. It may seems that like there's nothing going on with this particular scene but there is. This is a one shot scene that focus' on tension. This gazing that Jackson is omitting onto Brad off camera really builds the tension. I mean look at how much time it's taking for Jackson to gulp down that sprite? Big tension builder. Let's even look at the shadow over his eyes. It's like you can't even read him if you wanted. He's a mystery in this scene. All you notice is his mouth on that straw sipping that sprite. Also, there's a sort of arrogance in the way this one shot portrays Jackson. As if he's saying "I'm about to. kill you but first let. me drink your drink right in front of you first".
