I am originally from South Korea and recently moved from East Lansing, MI, to Birmingham, AL. I previously worked as an elementary school teacher in South Korea and now serve as a new faculty at the University of Alabama.

This is my family—my wife, Nari, and my baby girl, Ari. I’m excited to learn and grow with you all in INTE 532!

One thing that I have learned from Module 1, was about ADDIE and what an instructional designer does and doesn't do.

One thing I learned and enjoyed reading about from Module 1 was ADDIE and more information on instructional design.

My name is Bryan and I grew up in DC and then we were transferred to Satellite Beach FL just before High School, so I claim both as my Home Town.

This will be my last semester before graduating but I am still learning! I learned specifically that ADDIE is not a replacement for unsystematic models, and it is in fact, an umbrella.

What stood out to me in Module 1 was the content on Instructional Design Theories. I had never heard of the Pebble-in-the-Pond Model. It was interesting to read the process of designing first and then creating objectives. I think there can be pros and cons to this approach, and I am looking forward to learning and exploring this model in the future.

I am excited to be a part of this cohort and look forward to learning from you all and engaging with everyone.

One thing I learned from Module 1 is that the ADDIE model isn’t just a strict step-by-step process. It’s flexible, and you can move back and forth between the phases as you work. I like that, because it makes the process feel more realistic and less overwhelming.

One thing I've learned in Module 1 is the variety of different learning theories and instructional design models. I didn't realize there were so many models and how they relate to ADDIE. It's also interesting to explore task analysis.

From Module 1, I learned that a new learning theory called Connectivism was developed in 2004 in response to the digital age, where knowledge is rapidly expanding and constantly changing. This theory emphasizes that learning occurs through networks and connections, highlighting the important role of technology in acquiring and sharing knowledge.

One thing I learned in Module 1 is that instructional design is a systematic and learner-centered process. I really like the idea that objectives, strategies, and assessments should all align to make learning more effective.

Outside of work and school, I enjoy traveling to new places and cheering on my favorite college football teams. Both give me a nice balance and help me recharge outside of tech and coursework.

I'm am very excited for this course, and the ID program. In Module 1, I learned more about the ADDIE model. I was already somewhat familiar with it from other courses, but the interactive activity gave me a deeper understanding.

One thing I learned from Module 1 was the various stages of analysis of the ADDIE model of ID. Having different areas of analysis allows for a comprehensive foundation targeted for the intended design!

I'm looking forward to expanding my knowledge through this class to develop as an Instructional Designer!

I am a current Audio Visual teacher at Crandall HS, and I love it! I plan to stay in this role for a couple of more years and then move on from there.

One thing I have learned from Module 1 is the ADDIE model. I have never seen this before, and for someone who enjoys creating and designing my curriculum, this was a great model for me to look at from now on. I learned that ADDIE stands for Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate, and it provides a clear framework for instructional design. What stood out to me is that it’s an ongoing cycle, where evaluation happens throughout the process, not just at the end. This showed me the importance of carefully planning and adjusting based on learner needs.

My name is Michael Edge. Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, I have experienced several moves throughout my life, which ultimately led me to my current residence in Northport, Alabama. I currently serve the University of Alabama as the Manager of IT Operations for OTIDE.

While I understand that the assignment only requested one point, I believe there is another important aspect worth mentioning. The first thing I learned about is ADDIE. I spend a lot of time creating presentations for my users when we introduce new software, so discovering ADDIE felt like I was finally connecting some puzzle pieces that I now realize I do not fully understand.

The second realization is just how much I still have to learn about Instructional Technology. I have been in the IT field for nearly two decades and have always felt confident in my approach to training users. But now, after just this first module, I'm beginning to fully appreciate how much I have yet to learn.
