Based on the article from Scholastic, my classroom arrangement seems to be friendly and caring of students needs. I have designed what I believe would be the perfect setting if I was a student their age, but I am also open to new ideas. If I see that something is not working for my students I will not hesitate to make arrangements and accommodate my students.

I prefer to have rectangle tables. I am currently student teaching with students that have round tables and I see the constant struggle with the students facing the opposite direction of the board. If the teacher is modeling something those students constantly have to move their chair around,. If there is something on the board they need to write, they will grab a book for support and go to the floor to write it. I think that this situation takes up time, they do not have the support of a table to write on or a chair and it's just not fair. Therefore, my setting will have every student be able to see the board without having to move from their seat. Of course, students will have the option to move up, even if needed to write on the floor. As long, as they know that is an option and not a necessity because of the way their desk is arranged.

Someway I addressed environmental preferences is by providing more space for centers. Students are always welcomed to take the material from centers to the carpet area, to their desk, if the actual center space is not a place they want to be at the time. For example my reading station, I provided a bookshelf to place material. These will include alphabet magnets with cooking pans and give them a list of their frequency words to practice. These will also have dry erase white boards with markers for students to practice writing the words. These stations will provide flashcards with various pictures where they can create sentences based on the picture in their own journal. There will also be CD players and audiobooks for students to follow as long as they are reading. The reading station is right next to our classroom library this way, they have easy access to the books as well and continue to read to improve their reading levels.

Classroom Blueprint Link

1. The physical layout of my classroom reflects my teaching style in that I love collaboration and all over my classroom students are together where share their learning. I also have colorful colors which reflects my style of positivity, students not only feed of off your energy but the classroom’s energy too and my classroom is full off colors that will make the students feel happy and safe. When designing my layout, I also brought in ideas from classrooms I had been too before and this reflects my style of being open to absorbing new ideas from my peers.

2. I choose a desk arrangement of four tables where each table sits five students. I choose this arrangement because I don’t think having groups of desks put together is good for pre-k students since desks move a lot and having a table for all is better. I also don’t like when students have to turn around to face the board or the teacher so I made sure that in my tables everyone is on the side and on the end of the table where they don’t have to move their bodies to see the teacher.

3. One way I addressed environmental preferences is through the informal furniture arrangements in my centers. I love when students get to sit in places other than desks and a perfect place to do that is in centers. In my reading center students would be able to seat in the carpet or in bean bags, in the math center students will be able to seat in bouncy balls, and students will also be able to lay in the class carpet when doing an activity.
Classroom Blueprint Link

1. I have arranged my classroom so that students have opportunities to both collaborate, but to also have their alone time when it comes time to work. They would be allowed to sit at their desks, or to find free space on the floor to work. I did this because I believe that students should have the chance to work based on their learning preferences, so when provided the opportunity to choose, they will be able to have options and will not be confined to working at their desks.

2. I arranged the desks in cooperative groups of 6. I like this seating arrangement because all students will have someone in front of them or next to them with who they can collaborate with. At the same time, it would be easy for me to navigate the classroom and observe students while they worked in this seating arrangement. I believe it keeps the classroom organized and provides more space, but also allows the students the chance to collaborate and cooperate with their peers.

3. I designed my classroom so that students could have choices as to how they wanted to work. Students may choose to sit at their desks, where they are provided with colorful seats, different to the standard chairs provided by the school. They may also have the option to work in the free spaces on the floor or on the whole-group rug, or may read in the reading station with the fluffy seats or on the reading rug when it is time to read. This would be providing students with informal furniture arrangements, and providing them the chance to move around.

1. The physical layout of my classroom reflects my teaching style by having a nice space for student centered learning such as their own collaborative space for centers and the carpet area which is anything away for desks . The desks is also a collaborative space but sometimes some students may not focus and talk a lot and may be able to place them wherever they want where they will seem to focus on the floor. The different amount of colors I have also reflects how i want my classroom environment to feel happy, safe, and fun.
2. The desk arrangement I made were for me as a teacher to have a good eye view point of them while they work and collaborate with their peers. Also as I work in small group or one on one instruction I can still have a whole view of the desks as well as the carpet area, and centers. I believe for my classroom keeping the desks at one section area will be more productive and less cluttered if they were spread throughout the room.
3. I have addressed the environmental preferences by providing opportunities for children to move around with the area close to centers and carpet area. I understand that after a certain amount of time children cannot by still in a desk all day which is why i think it is important for there to be an open area else where they will also learn such as in the blueprint near the carpet and centers area. including music especially classical music into the classroom as they work is a way to keep them focus and having fun by not having such a silent or noisy classroom.

1. The physical layout of my classroom reflects my teaching style of a whole group instruction for most of the time. I also made sure to that there is enough room for many types of stations. This layout also reflects the amount of room that is needed for students at this age. It also makes everything accessible to the students and the teacher. Eye contact is important while teaching so all students desk are facing the board.

2. I arranged the desk in a form of a "U" with a row of desk going through the middle horizontally. Although with this arrangement I made sure to provide opportunities to do partner work and individual work. With that being said, in the blueprint you will see that there are even numbers in the row and in the "U". In the row there are 6 students, and in the "U" there are 14 students. The desk/tables face the board, and the teacher will be standing at the front for whole group instruction. This helps students by not having their backs turned to the teacher. The arrangement also gives the students and the teacher to move around easily. The teacher will also have an easy access when viewing students work when doing an informal evaluation.

3. As for environmental preferences I chose to arrange the furniture in a way that offers students a place to do their work other then their desks. There will be multiple rugs around the room, and there are also quiet areas for those that need it. If they dont want to sit at their desk they can go choose to sit at the tables where the workstations will be located (as long as none are going on at the time).

1. I created my classroom layout this way because I wanted to have a bigger space for whole group instruction- whether it be in the carpet or at their desks. I also wanted to have view of the majority of the class, this is why I positioned the small group and teacher desk in strategic places. This way I can be attentive to any disruptions and have a better view of what each student is doing.

2. The desk arrangement was based off of having 20 students. I think that having the tables placed in groups no more than 4 is important because it allows the kids to engage in conversation and work together as a group when necessary. The desks were placed close to the carpet to allow for easier transitions from the desks to the carpet. Also placing desks in a specific space and not scattered around the classroom allows me to have other space for stations.

3. I addressed environmental preference by having alternative seating in the classroom. They are able to sit in regular chairs, sit in the carpet, and cylinder stools in the reading area. This allows them to move with ease and sit in different areas. They will also be able to engage in different activities from reading to being in computer station (technology) to play educational games.

1. The physical layout of my classroom reflects my teaching style by having enough space to allow me to monitor each student and be able to check all students work. I also wanted the teacher's desk , one on one, and small group to be in the back and the side of the classroom because no matter what I am doing I will be able to see what the students are doing.
2. The desk arrangement I choose to have are students will be placed in groups of 6. I feel that students can really benefit of learning from one another for example, if I ask the students to turn in talk each student will have a parter to talk to. The desk are also placed in the center of the classroom this way each student will have a view of board once I am teaching . The groups are also placed not too close to each other so the teacher can easily move around the classroom. I also wanted to have groups because it is easier for the teacher to have the students line up, go to the carpet etc. The teacher can easily say group 1, group 2 , and group 3.
3. When creating the layout of the classroom I wanted to make sure the students could have space to work. For example, if the students would rather read a book in the carpet there is plenty of space for the students to read. The centers are placed in an area where they will not disturb any student when doing independent work. If the student would rather work alone the student can go to any tables with the teachers permission.

1. The physical layout of my classroom reflects the teaching style I will have for students. I believe in transitions and make students move and not make students stay in one place for a long time. Elementary students cannot sit for long periods of time without being annoyed for being in the same place. I believe that in order to keep a student involved in an activity/lesson, students need to move and not spend too much time in one place.

2. I decided to put the student's desk in the middle and all the centers and other things around them. I want my students to have access to all the centers and space to work. I want to make sure I can see the students all the time because this is necessary to have a good classroom management. I put groups of 4 students because I want all my students to work in groups. I feel that many students need to work in small groups, especially when they are in elementary school. Students will work in groups of 3 during the centers so that they can work with their classmates.

3. One way to address environmental preferences in my classroom is to make sure that students are always visible to the teacher and that everything is in sight, no matter where the teacher works. In this way, the teacher will be able to monitor the students even when they are in the centers working in small groups.

1. The physical layout of my classroom reflects my teaching style because it shows structure while also making room for flexibility. I believe that students need structures and routines in order to be able to learn in a classroom. I also believe that a teacher should be flexible enough to allow students to move around and be in different areas of a classroom.
2. I decided to have students' desks in the center of the classroom. This allows students to be able to easily move from their desks to different points of the classroom. This also allows me to monitor students without obstruction from any point in the classroom. Students are also placed in clusters of five. I chose this instead of having students sit individually because I believe that students learn through interaction with their environment and being able to sit near peers helps promote learning.
3. One way I addressed environmental preferences was through the reading center. Many students do no enjoy being seated in hard chairs during the entire day. There are also many students who grow tired of being seated on the carpet. Therefore, the reading center in this classroom blueprint has bean bag chairs for students. This allows students to feel more comfort and be seated in a different manner.

· The physical layout of my classroom reflects my teaching styles because I arranged my students sitting to be in the middle where I am able to see my students and secure their safety but also be able to look at every station in the classroom. Grouping students in long tables is another example of my style of teaching, I would like to concentrate on small and whole group work with my students. Their seating will be determined by their educational level so that my high students can help my low and middle students but at the same time grow as well. The layout of my classroom is very aesthetically pleasing for my students I will have posters with positive quotes to motivate my students and make them feel comfortable.
· As for the desk arrangement I had my students sit in the middle in tables where they will be able to look at the board, carpet and every other location of the classroom. I wanted to provide them that sense of being able to see their every corner to give them that sense of safety. It provides for better attention as well because I am able to see my students no matter where I am standing in the classroom. The seating arrangement will also make my students work on their social skills and be more open to meeting new people. Not only do I want them to work in their social skills, but this seating arrangement will allow them to work as a group and learn from one another and not be afraid to ask for help.
· One way I addressed the environmental preference in my classroom is in my classroom library. As for my classroom library, I want my students to feel cozy when reading their favorite book, so I will provide a bean bag for my students to sit and pillows. I am all about letting my students feel in their zone and be able to be comfortable when doing something so that they feel motivated and want to read more.

1. The physical layout of my classroom reflects my teaching style because it is an open space. I prefer an open space for my classroom so they can all interact with each other. 2. I decided to have a U as my desk formation because I am not fond of isolated groups. The U-shaped arrangement allows for partner work and open discussions among all students. Furthermore, the teacher's desk is in the front corner next to the projector in order to keep an eye on the class, while still having a quiet space for one-on-one instruction. 3.
