“Loser” was written and recorded by Beck while he was visiting Stephenson’s home. The song was spontaneously created although Beck had the idea for the song back in the late 1980s- he said, "I don't think I would have been able to go in and do 'Loser' in a six-hour shot without having been somewhat prepared. It was accidental, but it was something that I'd been working toward for a long time."  Stephenson enjoyed the songs but was unimpressed by Beck's rapping.  Stephenson recorded a brief guitar part from one of Beck's songs onto an eight track then looped it and added a drum track to it. Stephenson then added his own guitar playing and other smples that he thought he could make fit.  At this time, Beck was writing yet improvising lyrics for the recording. According to Beck, the line that became the song's chorus originated because "When [Stephenson] played it back, I thought, 'Man, I'm the worst rapper in the world, I'm just a loser.' So, I started singing 'I'm a loser baby, so why don't you kill me.'" The song was then finished 

The songs target audience was genuinely for teenagers and young adults that was inspired of Becks story. It highlighted people with the same left out feelings and people that believed that they knew nothing special and saw themselves as a “loser”. One fan at Becks show in Houston summed it up:” He’s just a kid who wrote a song that makes no sense at all, then he made a video that looks like it was done in his backyard, and he probably didn’t even think it would get on MTV, but it did, and now he’s making a bunch of money. It’s pretty funny.” This inspired fans to create something out of nothing and no matter is they saw themselves as a “loser”, this “loser” took something and made it so big that everyone was inspired, even though the lyrics made no sense.” It’s only once in, like, every couple of years that somebody’s gonna make something in a home studio and it somehow becomes a hit. Whenever that happens, it’s a pretty beautiful thing.”

“Soy un perdedor” is used in the chorus of Loser by Becks. This translated to English means “I’m a loser”. In my opinion, Becks used this to give more of a confusing twist on the song for the audiences, portraying that the song has no meaning to it. His audience is mostly of the white British/American audience, this is how his language in the song has been written out and portrayed. I can infer by knowing this to give more of a confusing, and even random, twist on the lyrics again. 

“I'm a loser baby, so why don't you kill me?” this is what he said aloud when listening to his rapping back. He felt like he was the “worst rapper in the world” and made up this lyric portraying that he felt like this and made it in the chorus of his song. This lyric makes me comprehend how self-conscious and held back the artist is, this can explain the poor realise of music in the past as he finds it hard looking at the good things in his work and boosting himself up about it.
