Please bring in ONE example of work from your Final Major Project

You will work in your dissemination groups to curate and hang your work.

We will set up a display system for you to hang your work on the walls. There will also be vitrines to show 3D work. 

Moving image will not be possible to show given the limitations of the space and the short time we have to install. If you have moving image work you may want to think about how you present this through print or via other means.

This includes TV's, projectors and other equipment that might be needed for the show. As we have limited availability, the equipment will be prioritised depending on the showcase needs. Please make sure the booked equipment is agreed to be used in the show with the curation team. 

The equipment can only be used in B201 and will be provided for testing before the show, you will not be able to take it home. We can not guarantee you will receive the equipment as there is a limited amount and we will prioritise projects that have been confirmed by tutors and booked in time. If we can not provide the required equipment please check with CLS or source from outside college.

This is an opportunity for anyone interesting in pursuing a research degree or developing longer-form research led projects or residencies. 

Education plays a big part in a range of creative practices. We will look at case studies of how different practitioners use education as an intention, context and application for projects. We will reflect on our own experiences of learning and share positive strategies, ask questions about what knowledge really is, who gets to teach and where learning can happen. 

This is an opportunity for anyone interested in teaching, participation and engagement to get an experience ahead of graduating developing and delivering a live session.

You will plan and take part in an event, where your book pitches will be displayed, and you will be able invite members of the public and industry professionals. 

The publishing PDG is suitable for any student whose final major project can or does take the form of a book with commercial publishing potential. It does not have to be finished, but there will not be enough time to create a project from scratch, so do not pick this group if your FMP is not appropriate.

You will take part in the Small Publishers Fair at Conway Hall in central London. SPF is a two day event that showcases and celebrates self-publishing, allowing you to present your final publication and engaging new audiences. Following this event you will produce a short video trailer to be shared with online audiences and to gain international visibility for the work. 

As a self publisher you will need to adapt to several creative roles. You will direct the design, editing, printing and dissemination of your publication. 

This group is ideal for students interested in developing prints and artist editions, experimenting with self-publishing, and using selling and dissemination as part of their creative practice. You will explore how illustrators are increasingly bypassing traditional routes by releasing accessible artworks, editions, and self-publishing, and using sales as a way to build audiences. Throughout the module, you will consider how commerce can function as a creative tool: shaping your professional practice, supporting independent modes of production, and connecting your work directly with the public.

Unlocking and demystifying application processes. You will be asked to research and analyse advertised residencies. Together we will combine, collate and share knowledge of where to find them and how to apply for them. You will be supported to put together an application for an established residency that aligns with your practice. There will also be space for critical examinations of residencies, looking at power dynamics, access, costs and expectations. 

You are asked to view the idea of steering your practice via self-formed residencies as a radical act- through collaboration, exchange, bartering and skill sharing- with each other. These residencies will likely bend the edges of traditional concepts of an ‘artist’s residency’ and as a cohort you will conjure exciting ways to approach spaces and audiences and extract new research material.  This should better prepare you for future self-led initiatives as well as application-based opportunities.
