It was meant to make Europe more independent and to ruin Great Britain's economy. The blockade wasn't tight enough and many smuggled things in, many (including Napoleon's own family) also disregarded it completely. It didn't cause much of an effect on Britain. He was quickly hated as people became suspicious that he wanted to undo the land reforms of the Revolution. Napoleon caught word of how much Louis sucked (how disliked he was), and thought it would be a good to time to take back power. He escaped from Elba and arrived in France on March 1st, 1815. He was welcomed back by crowds of happy people. He got many to join his makeshift army and was emperor once again. European allies gathered up their armies. Napoleon attacked on June 18th, 1815. He started his rule by making smart decisions that showed how much he cared about France. However, as time went on Napoleon’s pride and arrogance took over. During the Russian invasion, Napoleon declared war and lost an ally all because Russia continued to sell grain to Britain and because they had “suspicions” that they had competing ideas for Poland. Napoleon also invaded Spain because they wouldn’t follow the Continental System. This battle lost 300,000 of Napoleons men. He continues to risk his men’s lives because others don’t agree with his ideas. He was thrown out of power and exiled twice. Napoleon shows no modesty or self control.
