The idea of making system based changes, like smaller fridges, is a way of responsibly interacting with the natural world because it would cause consumers to buy less food, which reduces the amount of food wasted that would go on to harm the natural world. This change would therefore build a more sustainable community because future generations will continue to use these smaller refrigerators. To accomplish a system-based change many people would have cooperate together responsibly.

Communities and companies need to cooperate with each other so that products can be made and used which will help benefit todays world and essentially "build sustainable communities". An example of this was stated in the video of how kettles are being over used with the amount of water being put in them. Essentially, this means that the company and the communities are not working with each other as the company is not making their product in the most efficient way possible, leading the community to over use the kettles.

Consumption is one of the biggest problems for sustainability, but the best solution to consumption is creating designs that force consumer to lessen the consumption amount of food and resources. An example of creating more sustainable design is making refrigerators more efficient and capable of keeping food fresh, which would result in less food waste.

Consumption is the problem in communities, and companies can help by looking at overall issues in products with how the product will work with consumers to make communities sustainable.

(The mining for valuable metals from old electronics produces a significant amount of smoke and pollution.) The concept of landfills was interesting as well because they create anaerobic environments, which makes natural waste decompose into methane. Also tying back to cooperating responsibly, it is important not only for citizens of communities to be responsible with the environment, but for people and businesses to be responsible amongst each other.

In the video, it talks about different products that people use day by day and how they could be a harm to the natural world if they are not handled/put to use properly. Often, many appliances require a lot of energy and waste of products build up. For example, in the video it talks about how fridges are becoming bigger, thus more wasted food which become decomposed. Also, it talks about how energy is being wasted due to people using tea kettles and filling them up to boil with way more water then they actually drink. The energy being used ti boil the water goes to waste. To make sure products are stored and handled effectively, companies and communities need to work together to create the most efficient products to help the natural world
