Today is the third lesson of MPU34102 Rock Your Presentation. I learned that interesting stuff is essential to attract the attention of audience. Example of that is stories. Stories that are related to the speaker itself or the audience is the best as everyone tends to be interested in other peoples real life experience. If they can truly understand the speakers stories, they definitely will pay attention to the speaker. Mr Dexter Sigan anak John then asked us to complete an assignment after the class. It is about a girl giving a speech about her traumatic experience while living in North Korean. We were ask to analyze her talk and write out how it attracts the audience attention.

Today is the fourth lesson of MPU34102 Rock Your Presentation. This weeks class is about the life of Power point. It points out a lot of things that had been neglected in a good presentation. The tempo, clarity and tone heavily affects the intensity in our voice tension in our delivery. I also learned that interference forms like ums, ers and you know need to be reduce in order to increase the clarity of our speech. I also learned the power of props during todays class. We are given 2 videos in eleap. The first video is a TEDx talk from Kenny Nguyen. His speech was clear and all but his usage of props needs improvement. The second video is a winning speech from DANANJAYA HETTIARACHCHI. He successfully utilize the power of props to his advantage and capture the focus of the audience.

Today is the fifth lesson of MPU34102 Rock Your Presentation. This weeks class is about creating interaction between the audience. There are times where we have Q&A session at the end of the presentation. Sometimes it is better to understand that not all presentation requires Q&A session because you don't want response like awkward silences and rambling statements or someone asking the same question every time. There are times where we utter the word, " Any questions?" which mostly will end up unanswered because it is a close-ended question. We can use this knowledge to end a presentation if we don't want anyone from asking questions.

Today is the sixth lesson of MPU34102 Rock Your Presentation. This weeks class is about the importance of learning from other speakers. It's not just about the best speakers in the world. We can also learn from a simple presentation since can learn where can the person improve and improvise on ourselves. Learning from masters is also essential. We should not be afraid to copy other peoples style as everybody starts from scratch. We also need to observe how the masters deliver their speech . Learn how they open a speech, establish presence and how to establish their presence. Not just learn, we need to do it as it is the best way to apprentice ourselves to the art of public speaking.

Today is the sixth week of MPU34102 Rock Your Presentation. This weeks class is about the Zen of presenting. Our attitude affects the message that we send to our audience. If we are feeling violent or shy at the moment, the message delivered will be blurred and misunderstood. The questioner might be annoying sometimes, but with correct method it can be dealt easily. Patient is important when answering the question. We can ask the questioner to repeat the question so there's more time for us to think. When we don't know the answer, we should not lie to the questioner but admit it. Instead, we can tell them that we had no idea and will find it out. Silence in a speech does not mean its bad. It is needed to provide time for both the speaker to think and the audience to understand.
