The illustration of the Time Magazine cover is a visual representation for racism. The use of negative space and color creates an image of Adolf Hitler. The "mustache" of the image is the president of the U.S.A, who holds political power that can affect everyone in the nation. President Donald Trump has said many racial remarks that have slander his citizens of color. Trump's racial motivations driven him to act unlawfully in office.

Adolf Hitler was a very racist, homophobic, and egotistical man. Who discriminated against many people for characteristics they could not control. The injustice committed by Hitler, still holds affect on communities in today's society. The author takes a huge approach to compare Trump to Hitler as his actions in office are slowly demonstrating a dictatorship. Trump's treatment of minorities/immigrants is an injustice to the very standards that America was founded on.

The president holds a massive amount of power in his hands. What he decides to do with that power can affect generations of people. Trump has shown numerous times that he cannot handle that power. Racism, homophobia, misogyny, have all been displayed by the president of the U.S.A. Proving both racism and the president himself to be a "virus" to this nation.

Politics, Power and Injustice are presented in TIME Magazine's "Who Gets to Be American?" by using both the cover and the title to express how in many ways America is not the way that foreigners originally believed it to be. America is seen as the land of the free and a place where foreigners can come to seek work and a safer place to live. However, American politicians have tried to pick and choose who can immigrate to the states for years. Those who make it to the states are treated as less than native Americans and are seen as people who are stealing the jobs of Americans. Immigrants face discrimination as they are often not offered well paying positions and end up earning only a few dollars a day. Immigrants have far less political power in our country and those in higher positions, such as the presidency, want nothing more for them to be deported back into the situations that immigrants are trying to escape.

Black people, in America especially, face discrimination and fear for their lives daily, socioeconomic standing and location notwithstanding. In this video, the creator succinctly presents to his audience the reality of black people’s general situation by using the topical situation of being inside a car when being pulled over. The video does a great job of expressing the latent fear and instability that the black person feels. Now, an uprising that is political in nature has begun, as riots and protests take place in response to all the injustices faced by black people, all as an attempt to hold the people in power responsible and to “wake them up” and make them take action. All of this is summarized within this video, which is a little over a minute long, but the topic itself is so much more, and the video simply served as another way to draw attention to the big problems in America, especially the ones being faced by its black citizens.

The judicial branch acts on stabilizing justice for all American citizens through unbiased administration, but this is not always the case. Politics is a cycle that can determine who is in power and in charge of making the unbiased decisions when it comes to justice. One can be biased due to the color of their skin or even their features. The judicial system must be impartial, engage, and make decisions based on keeping a placid country. The merit of this system is not perfect, because when there is one bad apple that spoils the bunch, that biased decision can crush the values of justice and corrupt the system surrounding it.

The United States has always been a land of immigrants and and opportunities. President Trump wants to use his power and presidential authority to convince the non-immigrant population of the USA that Immigrants have ruined the USA. The dark sky represents all the harm that immigrants supposedly did to the USA. President Trump standing in the side wants to convince that he doesn’t want to harm immigrants, but more that he respects Immigrants voices. We can also see a batallón quickly approaching Immigrants form the back and unexpectedly.

The picture shown is from late 1930's and early 1940's when an experiment call “The Clark Doll Experiment” was being practiced. This experiment is a prime example of how injustice, power, and politics have been used throughout time. The basis of “The Clark Doll Experiment” was to prove how racism was taught and how the ideals of other people can affect the younger generations. In this trial children were asked questions such as, “Which doll is the pretty/ugly one?” and “Which doll is the violent/nice one?” The kids had to answer the questions by pointing at the doll they thought would fit the description. 15 out of 20 children choses the white dolls over the black dolls for the positive questions. This shows the power that children’s environment’s hold over them. Children are not born with the assumptions that they hold against each race. However, these ideals can be taught and “The Clark Experiment” perfect illustration to see these teachings come into play. The injustice in this situation is that these children have not been given the opportunity to form their own opinions yet. Children start developing their theory of mind at the ages of four and five. How convenient is it that this is the prime age of the children participating in the experiment? The fact that the children have answered the questions proves that these answers have not been formed from their opinion. It may seem that this experiment was just to prove a point, but it was a significant piece of evidence that aided the Brown vs. Board of Education case. In the world of politics and law, scientific findings were not commonly practiced; therefore, the impact that the study had on the case was significant. Clark’s studies were the start of the “era of scientific racism.” This is how this image shows how injustice, power, and politics have been used throughout time.

The fear of going into a store. The fear of sending you kids out to play in the park. The fear of driving. All of these fears and its common denominator is injustice.
In the illustration power is held in the hands of the cops. The cops are White males arresting an unarmed black male while looking at an armed white male. The illustrations shows how the ones with power is corrupted. In American The ones in power are usually the ones corrupted, because the majority is corrupted no one is held responsible for their actions, they get away with everything.
Just like cops the people in politics are corrupt as well. Corruption in people with higher power makes it even harder for African American to live their everyday life. When its time to get justice, the people in politics turn their head.

This illustration represents the artist's opinion on the Refugee Ban. President Trump signed an executive order on banning refugees from entering the United States. President trump has the political authority on wether refugees can enter the United States or not, and has ultimately decided that they can not. He has created a new system in which refugees are allowed to enter, but has stopped recruiting.
The illustration also represents power because he decides how the refugees lives are. Refugees escape from their land to find a safe haven, and many tend to look to the United States because they have heard that this is where you can be free. With the power of Trump has, he has stopped the refugees from getting the better life they deserve.
Injustice is also presented in this by the Statue of Liberty holding the little girl, representing that the refugees belong here and shouldn't be oppressed. President Trump has decided to not allow the refugees in, simply because he doesn't want them in the United States. This speaks to injustice because everyone should have the opportunity to have a better life, and President Trump has decided for no good reason, that they do not. The refugees are being treated unjustly because they are being denied access to a good life for no reason.

This illustration created by Jennifer Luxton conveys a powerful message, that represents power, politics, and injustices in our society. The picture shows a black man speaking. Not only is the black man speaking, but there are white arms stretching out to him; these three white arms are holding megaphones and microphones toward the black man. These arms represent allies with higher privilege wanting the black man's message to be heard. In our society, white people have advantages and authority over minorities. This means that white voices are highly significant, and more influential when discussing issues that all people face. Power is represented by how people utilize their privilege, to get ignored important messages heard . This image also correlates with politics. Politicians make major decisions on how minorities live, without the minorities actually getting a say. Nearly all politicians are white men that have never faced discrimination, racism, or was ever given the short end of the stick a day in their life. So, how is it that politicians constantly make decisions that determine how people who do face these issues live? Jennifer Luxton’s illustration presents how politics affects people whose voices are constantly ignored. This all ties into the injustices that minorities face. Since minorities are seen as inferior, they need the help of white people to get their messages heard. These white people that help get minorities voices heard are known commonly as allies. Allies are depicted by the white arms using their own megaphones and microphones to capture the black man’s message. Unfortunately, the only way minorities are heard is when they have a group of people who are seen as superior. Jennifer Luxton conveyed how politics, power, and injustices strongly impact society with a simple image.

This painting by Rick Houser, displays the amount of power white Americans hold in relation to their African American counterparts. In history, African American people built many aspects of the United States on the premise of slavery. The United States would not have accumulated so much success if it wasn't for their free labor. In the painting there is a white baby being nursed by a black woman. This not only figuratively illustrates how this country was built off of the backs of African Americans, but also literally in which slave owners made black woman create and nurse their offspring. Despite all that black people in America have done for this country, white supremacists still manage to slap them in the face and capitalize without reimbursement. The caucasian baby shooting a bird represents the poor regard white people have for blacks. Considering the amount of economic advantages they have gained, white people are able to dominate because money equals power.

When looking back into the history of America the “peek” of America was only great when the “white man” held the power. Was America great when nazi soldiers killed Jews in concentration camps because of their beliefs? Was America great when African Americans where stripped from their home and culture and forced to Work day and night by the hand of a slave owner? This imagine demonstrates the mask that people in today’s society hide behind in order to idolize that America was Great when the white man Held all the power and everyone fell to their feet.

In the current times we live in, a light is finally being shined on of the police of america. This cartoon depicts that black community is using this opportunity to further themselves in a negative way. The injustice that is present would seem as if the woman is in danger, but actually it is the the image of black people that is in danger. The black community did not march, protest, and riot for the de-funding of the police so that they could commit crimes. Black people want justice for their fallen brothers and sister at the hands of the ones who are supposed to serve and protect.
The de-funding of the police is not only a social issue, but a political one. Those who are against this action fear that situation like this will occur without the police. Without the police who will keep people "safe". People can't be safe if the police can't understand how to do their job without unnecessary casualties. Too many black people have died because the the police are so quick to draw their weapons against them. Their will never be safe unless the police understand that even they are not above the law.
The cartoon also displays a black man attempting to steal from a white woman. This cartoonist thinks that black people have sense of power over white people now that the police are de-funded. The black community did not seek power from the de-funding of the police, they want them to see that their actions will not go unchecked any longer. That the police needed to face consequences.

Injustice is shown on this Cover to display how white america wants blacks to be contempt with the imbalance of rights and power. Being that this is an older magazine cover (2018) it exemplifies the ongoing fight for justice blacks and other minorities who are also experiencing injustice. The white hand gesture explains how America works. Attempting to “hush” the problems regarding race. The emotion displayed on the models face displays the tiredness and anger regarding the roles of each race in America.

The White hand signifies power over the minority. Power to “control” the actions of other groups of people much like what occurred during slavery and Jim Crow. When presented in this manner America makes thinking races are evolved to be a myth.

Injustice is vividly presented in this image. This is represented in the rain cloud above the black runner, symbolizing outside forces affecting our success. Theses outside forces include, racism and discrimination. Power is depicted in this picture through the placement in the runners. The darker the runner gets the further back their placement gets. Which represents is society the lighter someone's skin color the more successful they'll be.

This picture depicts power. I say this picture depicts power because this is what they’ve been doing to us. Oh the history have 400 years that the black race has been oppressed. They’re probably been over 4000 lynchings. This one picture give so much back to black community, revenge is not encouraged but this is the what we need. The oppression of black man has been going on for more than 400 years. The KKK has been a major enemy in the black community. The KKK has latched can’t list The oppression of black man has been going on for more than 400 years. The KKK has been a major enemy in the black community. The KKK has lynched countless African Americans, this for some reason always goes unnoticed. Have a black man go out and Lynch a member of the KKK it'd been every on every news source. That just goes to show how much power the white man has.
