Nowadays, it is generally agreed that most Gen Zers have a kind of access to the internet and social media which results in many negative impacts. Gen Z is an abbreviation of Generation Z. According to Dimmock (2019) It refers to a group of people born roughly between the mid-1990s and 2010. While social media is defined as any electronic service through which Internet users be able to create and share a variety of content over the Internet PrakashYadav & Rai (2017). This generation is the first to have access to the internet and social media, which affects their behavior and lifestyle significantly. These effects can be positive or negative due to the personal usage of social media. This project will focus on the negative side of social media on Gen z. The main aim of this project is to identify the negative effect of social media on Gen Z relationships. The research will show several factors that may affect Gen Z relationships negatively and will determine which factor has more negativity.

The responses to the questionnaire were varied, as some of the sub hypotheses were right and others were false, and they were as follows:

·      Most Gen Z has instant access to social media. It was a valid hypothesis.

·      Most Gen Z has more friends on social media than friends in real life. It was a false hypothesis. We discovered that Generation Z would prefer to have more friends in real life.

·      Most Gen Z suffers from mental health issues. And it was true in most of the answers that they suffered for some time from negative comments.

·      Most GenZ spent less time with their family. Our hypothesis was wrong. We found out that most Generation Z spends more than two days a week with their families.

·      Most gen Z spent most of their day on social media. And we were right.
