Communication - preflight briefing

* we got into groups and did our preflight briefing. In our preflight briefing we had to communicate with one another about what was going to happen during the flight such as if there was any turbulence or if there was any children on board.
* we worked well at speaking fluently to one another and making sure that we included everything we needed to include for a preflight briefing as it is important to do this because if we was doing this in the real job we would need to inc,use everything or something could go wrong.
* however I could of improve on communicating with my team to make them more confident during the preflight briefing and telling them to make sure to sit up straight and not bury their heads into the script.

Teamwork - PGL

*On the PGL trip we was put into 2 teams during axe throwing, before we did this though , we got to practise axe throwing on our own and work as a team with the instructors to help us get better which for me failed. When we was into teams we had to beat the other team with the highest points, my group won.
*we worked well at involving everyone and cheering each other on. We also worked well at giving out advice to one another to try improve on what to do to get the higher points, just to get the win.
*I could improve on getting better at axe throwing all together because I’m terrible at it I may as well of just thrown a rock at the target because the axe wouldn’t go in the target. I was like the only person they let go a bit closer and I still missed the target.

Sustainability- less use and waste of paper

* in college we use devices such as laptops and iPads to do our work on. This is so that we don’t waist paper and it’s an easier way of keeping our work safe.
*by using these devices in college it creates a positive impact on the environment as it is saving the trees and wildlife. It can also save money as students won’t be needing to buy books and pens unless necessary. ( some lessons do use paper )
* however when we use devices like these it also creates a negative impact on the environment because of the energy usage we are using, these devices will need to be charged a lot for different classes and lessons.

Communication- learning the phonetic alphabet

When learning the phonetic alphabet I chose to learn it all at home and practise it with my parents. I communicated one on one with my mum who would correct me if I was wrong.

I did well with learning it fast and being able to say them without looking at anything to remind me.

However I would improve on being able to keep the phonetic alphabet in my memory for a long period of time because I have forgotten most stuff.

Teamwork - industry week making our own town/map

Some man came in and went through a lot of information with us. We was then asked to create our own town map as tables.
We worked as a team to discuss what a town would need and then put it down on the paper.

We worked well on making everything accessible and including the important things such as hospitals etc.

We could of improved on including more roads and some street lights.

Communication- security check assignment

During our security check assignment we was put into groups and practised doing a security check. Before the security check me and my group communicated with each other to decide what part of the plane we would be searching and during the security check we communicated with each other to see what parts of the plane still needed searching and how many threats we had found.

We did well on working fast and discussing what we did before.

However I would improve on doing some research before.

Sustainability- getting the bus to college

I get the bus too and from college 4 days a week which costs me nearly £6 a week.

A positive about this is that it saves my mum petrol money and I also have a zoom card which makes it less cheaper than not having one with a zoom card it’s nearly £6 a week without a zoom card it would be nearly £16, £2 there and £2 back everyday.

A negative about this is that the fuel is a negative impact on the environment.

Teamwork- York trip Christmas market , ice skating

We went on a trip to York for the Christmas market me and a group of friends went to find the Christmas market and it took us a while so we asked a women to guide us to it and she helped. We then went ice skating and we worked as a team to help each other ice skate.

We did well on helping each other step by step to ice skate and also helped each other not to fall.

I would improve on not trying to go fast cause I fell on my bum.

Sustainability- using a water bottle

I use a water bottle so that it saves the environments waste.

A positive about this is that it creates less litter and saves the wildlife.

A negative about this is that if it needs refilled at college I’d have to use the tap water.

Motivation - college

College motivates me to achieve my desired grades and be successful within the future such as achieving my dream job.

* one thing I do well within college is ensuring I hand in all my assignments in on time and getting the grade I want.

* overall I don’t believe there is anything I could improve on during college as , I’m always on time, achieve the highest grade in all my assignments and I dress correctly for college as well as being respectful and responsible.

Assignments are hard to do especially when I’ve got multiple to do that are needed to be handed in around the same time.

* I do well on ensuring to balance out my assignments throughout the days I’m not in college which are Tuesday Wednesday and the weekend. I set my self a time limit for my assignments to complete each day which can be from 1 hour upto 3 hours a day depending on the amount of work.

* I can improve on being motivated to check over my work before handing them in as I have been marked a lower grade before due to the spelling and grammar.

Motivation- volunteering at college

Volunteering at college events motivates me to learn new skills. This is good because I have more new learnt skills in which can help me on my CV when applying for a job.

* I have done well by volunteering at the opening day event which was for travel and tourism.

* I could improve on volunteering at more events as it is a great opportunity to gain the skills I will need in the future.

Reliability- attendance

My attendance is always nearly perfect , I am always on time and rarely ever have a day off of college unless there’s something that’s come up such as being unwell etc.

* one thing I do well is always being on time to all of my lessons meaning I a reliable on punctuation.

* in my opinion there isn’t anything that I could improve on when it comes to attendance due to me meeting the college standards

Reliability- assignments

My assignments are always set with multiple due in around the same time. However I am reliable when it comes down to handing my assignments in as they are always on time and meet the college standards of a distinction.

* one thing I am good at is enduring all my assignments are handed into the college system on the due date.

*one thing I could improve on is making sure that my assignments have no spelling or grammar mistakes.

Reliability- college events

I have volunteered at the college opening evening for year 11 students. During this event I presented the safety demonstration towards passengers on board a plane.

* one thing I did well on this is proving that I was reliable within keeping my word and attending the event on time and making sure that I was professional with what I was doing.

* one thing I could improve on is ensuring that I answer any questions that the year 11’s would be wanting to know.

work experience - primark

at Primark I started in the morning i did restocks of the men's section. then when the shop floor was opening to customers we put all equipment away and ensured the shop floor was safe. when customers was on the shop floor I helped customers out and I also folded the messy clothes, I also worked on tills some days.

in my opinion, I think restocking the floor and being able to help customers in a polite way went well, however I would develop on not being late and I wouldn't do another morning shift as I was too tired.

from this experience ii achieved patience skills and customer service skills.

work experience - flyme

at fly me I had participated in a variety of challenging experiences such as flight simulators of landing a plane and cabin crew activities as well as airport security.

I believe that everything went well on this day such as me successfully landing the plane. however i could develop on taking part on certain activities to push my self more.

I gained valuable skills and qualities from completing these challenges which will help me in the future.

work experience - opening evening

at the opening evening i participated in doing a safety demonstration in the cabin, i did this in front of multiple groups of soon to be college students i had then also answered any questions that the guests had to ask about the travel and tourism course.

i think that overall the safety demonstration went well. however i would develop on learning to not laugh when reading the script.

from this experience i have gained multiple skills that could help me in the future with cabin crew careers.
