He lost 75-80% of his hearing due to complication at birth. While growing up, he lived in two different states, Montana and then moved to Utah when he was 7 to break away from the church. It wasn't until after that when he realized that his true passion in life was basketball. At Weber State, he was named the "academic All-American" and was succeeding on and off the court. 
While he was not drafted to the NBA, he did spend time playing overseas in Turkey, France, and Spain.
