The first time our balloon was totally out of control, spinning everywhere! Although it dd go pretty fast,we decided to put a weight on the bottom to hold the balloon down supposedly. This totally failed and we ended up with some pretty crazy results. Anywhere from 5-8 seconds. I think this kind of failed for us . When we added the weight it took more of the energy coming from the balloon to push it forward.

During our first trail, the balloon was only moving by spinning. Once we tried again and added starbursts for weight, the spinning dissipated, but the balloon didn't go as far either. This happened the entire time, even after changing multiple contributing factors. I think that this demonstrates Newton's Second Law because when the force was imbalanced, there was an acceleration of when the balloon was let go pushing the air out. When the mass was just the balloon, it went far though it was unstable, while with the additional weight the balloon didn't go as far

In the Balloon Monorail/Rocket, the variable I changed to make the balloon monorail faster was the amount of air in the balloon, and the mass of it. The evidence that shows this was how I barely changed anything about the design, except for amount of air. This demonstrates Newton's Second Law because I accelerated the balloon monorail by, adding more air, and adding a bit more tape to it. (-Angelica De La Cruz-)

In the Balloon rocket, the variable that made it go the fastest was adding one starburst and not blowing it up all the way. With less air there was less air resistance and the starburst helped it go faster because the string was slightly tilted downwards. This demonstrates Newton's Second Law because the acceleration was increased by the mass and the way the string was positioned.

The first try went great and was fast, went all the way but of course i didn't record it sooo....my second run wasn't so great because the tape was restricting the air way of the balloon. After have the tape problem 2 or three times I switched the tape up then it went across the string fully but kinda slow. So then I added cargo, I added 2 more pebbles(before I only had one) and it didn't move at all. My second to last one I removed all pebbles and didn't blow the balloon up all the way. This was my best run. It was the fastest and made it all the way to the end.

The Balloon Monorail was probably the most fun of the projects we've done. It was quick, but also enjoyable and we got to add things on our own. Elliot and I made our simple original design, then we added the weight of one starburst, and then another afterwards. We also tried not blowing it up all the way, as we noticed a lot of the cars got to the end with extra air, and we wanted to reduce air resistance. We also tilted the string downwards slightly. Newton's Second Law helped this greatly, and the mass of the starburst + the slope made it go way faster. I'm pretty proud of this one, and it makes up for the past week's failure

The first try it just didn’t go at all, we didn’t add enough air into the balloon. The second try, the balloon popped because Sophie added too much air and the third try (this one) we added mass and Sophie didn’t pop the balloon. I would say this is the best one because 1. Sophie didn’t pop the balloon 2. We added mass and just enough air. It didn’t make it all the way but it was fairly far, I think added mass to it helped and really pushed it forward.

My fastest try was my third one. For my first one, I taped the straw to the balloon near the end (where you blow into the balloon) this caused the air exiting the balloon to go super slow and it didn’t move at all. My second try was even worse! For some reason, I thought using a string to attach the balloon was a smart idea, but this, of course, blocked the air way so I couldn’t even put weights or air inside. My third and final try was the best, I decided to tape the straw onto the big part of the balloon. When blowing it up, the tape popped off, but I could easily put it back on. It was weight less, but once I added it, it slowed down a lot!

The variable that we changed to make the balloon go faster was add more mass. We also added more air. Because the string was facing downhill, the balloon moved faster with more weight. The evidence of the variables of fact is that the balloon moved way faster than the first one with enough air and cargo added to it. The acceleration and the mass created the force which made the balloon go faster.

For the first one, I taped the straw to the balloon and that's it. When I did the second one I added more mass and I thought that it would go faster, and it did. To add more mass I decided to tape a candy to my balloon and it helped. And that's exactly what thought how everything is going to work, if I add more mass my balloon is going to go faster and it did.
