The bare minimum should not be good enough you should challenge them into learning as much as they can. Make sure everyone is on the same page. Relating the topic to something they may be more familiar with could help. Some students may know the terms you are talking about make sure all of them know and ask them questions to check in on them. Make sure to explain what new terms mean. You need to know what is so important about a topic. Throw in some fun hands-on activities for students to work on every now and then. Have a very flexible teaching style. On top of this, you need to be able to provide multiple examples if a student is confused and be able to explain in another way to help clear the confusion. Have students make goals to try to strive to reach in the end. Be organized with planning you may need to switch things around due to some unfortunate occurrence. This has a lot to do with being prepared and good planning.
