The good: The museums with the pictures and video's about civil rights and other historic events that took place at the time. The food at three cities pizza with the good pizza, and the wings and fries. The bad: The women on the street talking to herself, and no one was talking back. The people talking and smoking as we were walking down the streets in the cold. The ugly: The pork that came from the pigs at the curb market. the homeless people laying on the ground outside. the ally with all the trash and food on the ground.
I was also with Ricky and Malcolm eating at three cities pizza. Historical people: At the museum we saw George Washington Carver and him making the 300 products with the peanuts. We also saw Coretta Scott King and all the businesses she made after he husband, Martian Luther king Jr. died. Another place we visited was the apex museum. At the apex museum we saw a movie about Africa and it's people being taken to america to work as slaves. And we also saw a documentary about Auburn Ave. and it told us that Auburn Ave. was the street with the most Negroes on it, and it was the street that Dr. King lived on. At my interview I interviewed the man at the bakery. He told me that they've been in business for 6 months, and I asked a lot of other workers how long they've been in business and none of them said a year. Most workers picked the area because they liked all the people that came to they stores and the people were nice. Most worker said they were no disadvantages and they were a lot of advantages in the market.

My trip to Auburn Avenue was amazing and interesting because I learned about African American history. I enjoyed learning about the different historical figures and their roles in history. I got to touch a trolley car. I also got to taste amazing dipped wings (ranch), crispy bread and a fizzy sprite from a new BBQ joint in the Sweet Auburn curve market. I heard about Alanso Herndon and his role/accomplishments when we visited the Apex. I saw many plaques with the names of historical figures with their footprints and it was called the historical Wall Of Fame at the M.L.K. historic center. There was also a statue of Gandi also at the M.L.K. historic center. We also got to see the mural and a film on M.L.K . The final, and probably the best part of this amazing field trip, was M.L.K’s home and casket.

The Bad part of Auburn Avenue

There were not many bad and ugly sides to Auburn Avenue, just 4 that I noticed. I heard about the riot between the white and the blacks in 1906.I smelled lots of bad sewage smells and odors. The last and very emotional part of the trip was when I saw the photos when African American being hung and abused. I also noticed the homeless and some used inappropriate language while roaming the streets of Auburn Avenue.

We first stopped at M.L.K's house and all of the other shotgun houses that were on the other side of it. Also, as i was on my way there, I saw many different murals that were painted on the walls of buildings. When i went inside the house i noticed that the house looked kind of creepy (especially that doll on martins' sisters bed).
As I felt the old fire station it felt like it was going to fall or collapse. I heard a fire siren and a street car as well. I thought the street car was pretty nice too. At first I smelled smoke but then i smelled
caramel popcorn... I also tasted it (i liked it ALOT). :3 ^.^

Today i saw many different thing on Auburn Avenue and about Auburn Avenue. I informed myself about Auburn Avenue by keeping a chart that my teachers provided. I also used my five senses ''Touch, Taste, Smell, Hear, and See''. Somethings that I touched were the chairs that the members of Ebenezer Baptist Church sat in. Some stuff I tasted was the food there it was like a whole bunch of different places to eat, but it also smelled good''most of it''. Somethings i smelled was the air from the Church and it felt like you were listening to Dr.King word. Some stuff that i heard was that during this time was actually during the Great Depression. There was also a terrible riot in Atlanta when Whites were killing, jumping, beating. The African American community did okay during the Great Depression. Finally, I saw the house that Martin Luther King grew up in and was born in. I also see facts about how his father was a Minister . I also see how much different Fire Trucks are now and then. Then i saw the monument of Coretta Scott King and Martin Luther King. And i learned that Coretta King put a never ending flame to keep Martin's dream alive.

I visited Auburn Avenue today. The trip gave me some time to think about how fortunate I was because of my history and the people who don't have a home. On the trip, I went to the MLK Center, The Apex Museum, and the Municipal Market. The first part of the trip and my second favorite part of the trip was the MLK Center. I saw and heard some things there. I saw the Walk of Fame, which had the footprints of important people for the Civil Rights Era. I also saw the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, an African Civil Rights leader. Next I walked to the Apex Museum. On the way I saw many homeless people and it made me think about how lucky I am to have a home. When I got there, I saw 2 films. One was called "The Journey" and the other called "Auburn Avenue". " The Journey" was about how slavery impacted our history and the fact that all human life originated from Africa. "Auburn Avenue" was about the history of Auburn Avenue. Finally, I went to the Municipal Market and interviewed 2 business owners there. One man that owned a meat market even said that he had been in business for 16 years! I also ate there and tasted some wonderful foods. All in all, my experience at Auburn Avenue was great!

Today I went to Auburn Avenue! I would like to tell you my experience about the good, bad, and ugly of Auburn Ave.
The Good of Auburn Ave was the Museums and the food places. Everything was organized well and the facts were very useful. I saw Dr. Martin L. King's carriage that they rolled his dead body in. It was an amazing experience. I smelled the food from the market we went to, to get food and interview workers. I touched the Walk Of Fame (Rosa Parks' Footprint was there!) I also touched the Andrew Young statue with all the facts and quotes. In the museum I heard people singing "Oh, freedom , Oh , freedom."The Bad of Auburn Ave was that the workers were not respectful and looked unhappy while working. (I only saw a few people who were happy while they were working.) The people on the street looked "poor" and again unhappy. I smelled smoke because people were smoking a lot! The Ugly of Auburn Avenue was that people were sleeping on the streets , homeless! The buildings looked all beat up and "raggedy". Also, there was a lady on the street eating cheese puffs and talking to herself while no one else was speaking back to her! I learned about The Journey in Africa , in the "movie" I heard a women being treated badly in her own home! I think it was a white man who came into her home and started to hurt her. She was saying "What did I do to you?" and "Why are you hurting me?" I didn't understand why he was hurting the lady because she had never done anything to the man. The places we went by and saw were, The Baptist Church , The MLK Center where I saw the Civil Rights Walk Of Fame, and MLK's home. I saw Mahatma Gandhi's statue , Rosa Parks footprints, and people who looked as though they were marching. The model where the people were marching , on the floor there were the names of where they marched for freedom. The video behind it showed them marching and singing Oh freedom, oh freedom. I also saw the famous women who worked to get the first women in space which the movie "Hidden Figures" was inspired from. I tasted Wings that were hot, candy that was sour, and Sun Flower seeds that were salty. This experience was amazing. I loved learning about what happened back then which wasn't that long ago. I hoped yo
