Sir Henry Morton Stanley main goal was to find Dr Livingstone but his previous explorations where to find a source of the nile, Mapped out much of the congo basin which led to king Leopold II plundering and exploiting the people there.
The impact left by the belgian exploitation was immense and destroyed much of the congolese way of life. Sir henry though did not find Leopold's actions reprehensible however.

Livingstone went on a mission to convert the native people but got lost and was rescued by stanley
