1.  The use of present tense verbs such as ‘parat’ meaning ‘he prepares’ and ‘transierunt’ meaning ‘they cross’ makes the description of the soldiers preapring for battle and arriving more vivid, because it is as if the action is building up to a dramatic battle. It feels more real than a reported account.
2. The Emphatic Word Positioning of ‘ignis sua involvunt’ meaning ‘envelop them in fire’ makes the description more vivid and graphic as the word for ‘them’ is literally in the middle of the words for ‘fire’ and ‘envelop’. This dramatic description almost shows the action from the perspective of the men themselves.
3. The use of the vocabulary ‘cruore’ meaning ‘blood’ and ‘fibris’ meaning ‘entrails’, adds visceral imagery to show the dramatic and bodily action.
