Tourism in Colombia is quite bountiful in options. One of the many attractions is Tayrona national park. It is a beautiful combination of the jungle and Colombian coast. You could also relax with a nice cup of coffee whilst at it. Colombia and its capital Bogota have world famous coffee and they even have an entire region in the state called the coffee region. Colombia is also incredibly safe in 2024 with many peace agreements and police to protect you.

There are so many incredible dishes and platters to taste when you go to Colombia. One snack that you have to try is empanadas. Empanadas are deep fried pastry like appetizers filled with various kinds of meats and vegetables. One of the most popular dishes is bandeja paisa. Bandeja paisa is a huge platter of many different Colombian foods such as beans, rice, plantains, avocado, and many meats like sausage, chicharron, and minced beef. It is widely known for being a filling meal and truly a staple of Colombia. To finish off with desert, Obleas are an amazing choice. Two thin brown wafers are sandwiched together with a gooey filling in the middle like caramel or chocolate for a truly tasty treat.

There are many different types of traditional dances in Colombia. One common dance is called the Cumbia. Slaves used to dance to the rhythms of percussions and formed the Cumbia dance. It was more popularized and modernized in the 1940s and is now a national dance of love in Colombia. Another popular dance not only in just Colombia but in most of Latin America is the Salsa. While the Colombians may have not initially made the Salsa they heavily influenced it and developed it into their own style and morphed it to be a staple of Colombia.

The national sport of Colombia is called Tejo. Tejo is a game where players throw a metal disc called the tejo (about 1 pound heavy) at a clay board 20 yards away. The board lies on a heavy metal ring called the Bocin. The goal of the game is to land the tejo in the ring for 6 points. Around the ring are triangular metal pouches called mecha that are filled with gunpowder. If you hit a mecha you gain 3 points. If you hit a Mecha and land in the Bocin then you get 9 points.

I thought that this project was truly beautiful. It really opened my eyes to other countries and made me realize how other people live and interact that live so far away. If i was given the oppurtunity to go to Colombia, I would take it in a heartbeat. The inmense culture and religion would be absolutely astonishing to expierience. I love how every part of this project was something that I liked. From the dance and culture, to the food and sports this country has it all. It's dances are very unique and different compared to the U.S. and the food looks so tasty compared to your average U.S. burger. It also looks like such a beautiful place to live in. I would go to Colombia if given the chance.
