Set yourself a specific savings goal, for example, a holiday or a drone! Most banks will allow you to set up a savings bank account that earns higher interest and is attached to your everyday transaction account. Set up a weekly/fortnightly direct debit into the savings account to help reach your goal. Also, if you decide against that morning coffee or takeout lunch then transfer over the money you would have spent. You'll reach your goal much faster! - Annie Maynes

1. If you use a credit card, ensure you pay it off in full each month, therefore paying no interest. Use it for your everyday purchases that you have in your weekly/monthly budget and discuss and save for any larger or special purchases.
2. Look into having your mortgage offset with your savings in the bank and use your credit card for all expenses. Your savings can then be offset on the total of your mortgage and reduce the principal amount that you pay interest on (saving you money in the interest you pay in the long run).
3. If you use a credit card, look for a service that provides rewards, EG rewards points for each dollar spent or frequent flyer points etc. Then you can use these rewards when they accumulate. It doesn't take long when you use your credit card for all expenditure.
:) :) - Kelly Platt
