Nora here points out the fact that women sacrifice their honor for the one they love while men don’t. She realizes the gender inequality.Nora is willing to throw away her reputation and even her life(if the scandal is out in the air)to save her husband’s life. However, tovarld turns into a monster at the thought that his reputation might be tarnished by Nora.This obvious contrast awakens Nora and brings her to understand the situation that women(not just herself)face.

Looking at Nora's doll life，it is a circle in which her children would grown up to become another Helmer and another Nora. This is a powerful circle produced by the society at that era. However，it is not destiny that cannot be broken.

Mrs Linde was the female that chose to live on her own. We know that it must be hard for her，a woman at 19th century，to go through that way. But she just simply said“These things do happen sometimes，Nora.” to replay Nora's surprise（P12），which suggests her strong personality.

What's more，her experience also implies Nora's choice.

She dared to speak out her dilemma and had the courage to find a job by herself, insted of trapping in the same old situation.

she encouraged Nora that a woman can go out of the role of a house wife and live by herself. she also told nora to let her husband know the truth, this will give them the chance to sit down and have a serious talk.i think this shows the theme that everyone has his own secrets, it's important to reveal the truth and face hardship openly.
