This poem is included because it accurately describes greed and what it is like for some people to want something and never be satisfied. I liked this poem because it describes greed differently than how we think about it. This poem is different from all the others because it shows greed not as harsh as the others but it is like the others because it makes the connection of being greedy is horrible.

The man whose riches satisfy his greed
Is not more rich for all those heaps and hoards
Than some poor man who has enough to feed
And clothe his corpse with such as God affords.

I have no use for men who steal and cheat;
The fruit of evil poisons those who eat.

Some wicked men are rich, some good men poor,
But I would rather trust in what's secure;
Our virtue sticks with us and makes us strong,
But money changes owners all day long.

"The Man Whose Riches Satisfy His Greed" Solon

I think the theme of this poem is sometimes money may change people. This poem is included in my collection because it shows another side of greed and gives it a deeper meaning. This poem has an appeal to me because it defines what money does to certain people and brings up money does not solve everything. This poem is different because it describes greed not being only with money it is alike the others because it portrays greedy people as useless.

This poem is being included in my collection because it shows that even if we don't think there is greed in someone there still can be. This poem had an appeal to me because it outlines how horrible greed really can be. This poem is different because it bring up the poor more than anything and it is alike because it bring greed down to our desires.
