Ancient military arsenal, from 1892 to 1954, the year of its closure, was the main entry point for immigrants who landed in the United States. Currently the building houses the Ellis Island Immigration Museum (located in the territory of NYC) that can be visited using the same ticket and ferry that allows access also to the nearby Statue of Liberty.
