Each hospital site is bleep tested twice a week. These tests will occur between 08:30 - 16:00, Monday to Friday by the Resuscitation Services team. 

A test bleep will have an audio announcement 'This is a test call, please respond to ....' and a telephone number will be shared. Please respond to the test call on specified number, to confirm your bleep is working correctly. 

If the team do not receive a response to your test bleep, they will try to contact you again. 

If you are a bleep holder, who covers multiple buildings, you may receive more than one test call as each test covers a specific areas 'crash team'. Please be patient with us whilst we undertake the tests, while we understand it can be frustrating to receive multiple bleeps it is a necessary task to be completed. 

All staff now attend the same session. BLS is covered first and will take aprox 1.5 hours. The remaining 30 mins will cover advanced life support and use of the Zoll ALS Defibrillator.

If you have obtained an APLS or EPALS certificate in the past 12 months, please send this to leedsth-tr.paediatricresus@nhs.net to update your mandatory training. After the first 12 months, you will be required to attend an annual update following the instructions above.

Due to the security within the building, you are unable to come to the department independently. Therefore, if you arrive late, once the Resus Officer has been to reception. You will be unable to attend this course.
