This was an assignment I procrastinated on out of all the assignments. I do not enjoy documentaries as I would prefer to read. I was able to do post 1 & 2 quickly though. After watching the movie, I did realize that there is value in seeing and hearing one's voice. This format enabled me to gather more data and information about the character. I was able to experience more of the trauma and understand it.

It provided techniques to use when responding to disasters in order to help individuals affected. The way the training was formatted with situations, exact words to use along with checkpoints helped me learn the information. I especially benefitted from practicing with the different situations. I would definitely recommend this training to anyone that may deal with disasters and helping people cope with their situations.

The group project helped us look at Substance Abuse in a school setting to create a Crisis and Threat Assessment plan. Although I did not initially like the idea of a group project due to this being an online class, I am thankful in the end it was a group project. This was a huge assignment that allowed us to work together. I was able to learn from my group members and appreciate their point of view.

I'm including is so everyone can see what my school district started with regarding community resources. Before I created this, we did not have anything that was used in district. I shared the work with all the counselors in my district five years ago with access to add and edit as needed.

This is the current resource Google Folder that our school district counselors are able to share with parents that provides local help in all areas. The original copy was one entire document, as one can see in a separate post. Our district counselors have revised it and then it was taken over by one of our student support counselors to maintain. The link to the folder has the resources broken down by categories so it is easier for counselors in my district to just share the information parents need for their students.
