Mind Mapping: I chose mind mapping because the idea is a great way to show students are connecting information. For example, a student can see the big picture and then connect information from a previous lesson is a perfect tool to show understanding.

Magazine/newsletter: I like the idea of a magazine/newsletter because it would be an excellent way to open class. The teacher I am currently working with recommended using an agenda, and this would be a fun way to present the agenda as a newsletter for the day.

Vision Board: I would love to create a vision board to decorate my classroom and show students the goals for the semester. Having a vision board brings life to the classroom, along with having viewable goals for the semester.

1. One of the creative Google Drawings Activities I would use is a timeline. I would use a timeline because in the future I want to teach history and a timeline will perfectly explain the time period a certain event is taking place. You could also put in events that happen during that time. Overall, I believe a timeline is a great not taking source my students could use.

2. Another activity they could do is a social media page. This would be where they create a social media account for a famous person in history like George Washington or FDR. They would then post about their daily activities or how they played a big role in historic events. I feel like this would be a fun way to learn about a certain person and what they did.

3. Another activity I would have them do is a graphic organizer. I would have them do this to compare events or people throughout history. Like compare WW1 to WW2. There are many things through history that can be compared so I believe this would be great for them to learn how different, but similar some people and events are.

1. The first one that I would see myself using in the classroom is the graphic organizers. I would use these because it would be very easy for the students to find an organizer for different subjects and different assignments they may have.

2. The second one I would use is the digital badge. I would use these to reward the children when they are doing well or if they deserve it. I think this is also a good way to get the kids to want to do their work and a fun way for them to have a little bit of competition.

3. The third one I would use is the create a logo. I would use this one because I think it'd be a cool way for the kids to express themselves and be creative. Each kid would make their own logo and use it as their profile picture.

1. Digital Signature: I would have all my students create a digital signature, so they would be able to sign our classroom mission statement. At the beginning of each year, I want my class to come up with goals they want to accomplish and rules they need to follow.

2. Comic Strip: I would have my students complete and fill in a comic strip after finishing a book or an important chapter of a book. I think that when students have to summarize what they read, it makes them pay more attention to the material.

3. Choice Board: I want to create choice boards for assignments in my classroom because I know that students have many different preferences. As a student, I liked knowing that I had a choice of how to demonstrate my knowledge.

Graphic Organizer-Using a graphic organizer like a Ven Diagram will help my students understand the similarities and differences between the cultures they are learning about, like Judaism and Christianity.

2. Create a Logo-My student can collaborate on a logo for their social studies class which would be a great way to learn about family crests/coat of arms.

3.

While you can do a lot with google drawings by taking your time, there are many commands and functions that can be done to both speed up the design process and make designing certain elements of a Google Drawing easier. One tip that I liked was that the shift key will move any shape exactly one pixel. Your eye can tell when things are off, so you try to move a shape with the mouse and it flies across your screen... that won't happen if you use the shift key. Another tip I liked was Control + K for creating hyperlinks. This is much easier than copying and pasting the link, then retyping over it. The final tip I liked was that all shapes are made into a text boxes by default. This removes the struggle of adding a text box over a shape and cropping it just right, and some shapes just exist to have text on them.

I learned some great yet simple ways to make my interactions with google drawing more efficient and fluent. Here's what I learned!

1. Control + Shift + Down Arrow :This is a tool you can use to send an image or shape you are working with to the back, this will be so helpful when stacking shapes for things like graphic organizers!

2. File -> Publish to web : This takes your drawing and creates it into an image link. Something that I've always wondered how people do. This will be super helpful when uploading things to places like google classroom for my students! Also learned that Control K creates a hyperlink, technically a different point but I thought I would include them together.

3. Hold down the shift key to click on multiple objects : I knew this was a computer function, but for some reason I never thought to use it in google drawing and now I can't wait to try it, this will be super helpful if I wanted to move everything to one direction instead of having to move it piece by piece like I have been doing!

1. Create a Logo: The first thing I saw that would be fun for students to complete is to have them create a logo. The project could be centered around making a class logo, business logo, or any other type to represent an individual or a group. This could be more interesting if I brought in an element of competition where students vote on the best logos.

2. Collage: A collage would be a fun activity where students can share their interests with their peers and the teacher. This not only engages the students with technology and their interests, but it would help the teacher get to know the students on a more personal level and allow for different avenues to reach them.

3. Create a Timeline: I chose this activity because it would be informative and engaging for students during or after a history lesson. I could use a timeline activity to gauge a student's understanding of significant historical or scientific events throughout history.

Google Drawings- Kayla Jones

1. I love the idea of graphic organizers. As a science and language arts education major, these work well to help students organize their information without it looking like a cluttered and jumbled mess of information. I would probably use these when comparing different aspects of a topic or characters within a book.

2. I could also see scribble being a major tool in the classroom when working on science problems. Especially with a lot of textbooks being utilized online rather than paper, I could have them work on these problems online using scribble so that everything is all in one place and I won’t have to keep track of 50,000 separate papers that student’s may have forgotten to stable together or put their name.

3. Lastly, the annotation idea was really neat. I never liked writing on paper especially, if it was not my own copy, so this idea makes it nice because you don’t have to worry as much about making all of these copies and then they get lost, it will all be there for everyone to be able to utilize. It also seems easier because you can easily erase or make changes to anything that you annotated. I would probably use this when reading a poem or a short story but I think that if they are reading a longer novel it could be somewhat difficult.

1. The first thing that I really enjoyed learning was the hotkeys / shortcuts for your computer. For example, control K is how you quickly hyperlink a text, and control D is to duplicate.

2. I also learned that by using the format options you could quickly insert shadows into text boxes. This is way easier and quicker to make class content than using a mouse to do the same task.

3. Lastly, I found the arranged menu could be useful for transferring what I will make into a slide or a doc for my students to use.

Pop Art Example
