- We study literature through comparing the text's claims of truth to our own truths, truths of the world and we observe how the art of the writing tells a truth of its own. We study TTTC to discover a world of war most of us to do not understand, but also to relate to a completely separate world through completely connected issues.

2. How are we affected by literary texts in various ways? How are we impacted by TTTC?
- Literary texts effect us through many ways, a lot of the time, they simply point out aspects and truths of life that we always knew at the back of our mind but could never put into coherent thoughts. Also, it introduces to ideas and thoughts that we would have never discovered on our own. Every single text we read, if read with reflection, impacts us somehow. TTTC gives us a new perspective on war, but also a new perspective on how stories are told through emotion, and that does not mean that the story isn't real, even if it us untrue.

3. In what ways is meaning constructed, negotiated, expressed and interpreted in TTTC?
- Meaning is constructed in the constant use of the unreliable narrator point if view to emphasize his meaning of truth. It is negotiated through constant contradictions of real truth and story truth, and by the authors explicit explanation that he is using both fiction and non-fiction to create the truth of the war. It is expresses through symbols, archetypes, motifs and the constant display of vivid emotion. This can be interpreted in many ways, depending on the truths the reader seeks and finds.

4. How does the structure of style of TTTC affect its meaning?
- The structure of the differing stories of the war, the seemingly unorganized display of narratives helps get the reader into the state of mind that each story requires, it makes the gut feel, just as O'Brien says is how to tell if a story is true.

- The impact of a text over time is extremely vital in understanding the past, and also observing the predictions for the future. Depending on the literature, whether it be focused on issues of the time or the issues that may arise, one can observe the evolution of the human experience through how a literature is presented in it's own era and how it is relevant or not in another era. Has history develops with every passing moment, every truth in literature is slightly altered to reflect onto that present reality. However, what it meant in the past is also important in understanding the changes of a literature and how it represents the past, present and future.

 The structure and style of a literary text effects the meaning in many ways as it exposes how and why an author may be writing their story and what they want to get across. Morrison's usage of stream-of-consciousness helps personalize the characters on an even deeper level. Especially since the scenes in which the reader reads very blatant stream-of-consciousness are scenes in which the characters are grappling with extremely emotionally stressful and complex issues, the reader gets to see the character's coping mechanisms and genuine feelings toward the issues of slavery and complex relationships. The situations in Beloved that are being discussed tend to blend with each other and by having Morrison shift the point of view from character to character in the same situation deepens the reader's understanding of the complexity of these characters but also the complexity of the situation. With common flashbacks and flash forwards, Morrison conveys the effect of memory, an important aspect of Beloved. 

Time and Space

  Historical and cultural context is extremely important in how a text is received as the politics of the time are important to know in order to understand the relationships of groups of people in the book. The story of Margaret Garner is was essentially inspired the character of Sethe and the act she committed in which Beloved is based around, however the driving force of Beloved's creation is the United States' history in slavery. By understand the history of the Fugitive Slave Act, and it's reigning terror on free black people in America, the reader's interpretations of Sethe's actions might be drastically different than if they did not understand the historical context of the era. This dark, disgusting era of American history, for a long time, was quietly set aside and almost ignored. However, Morrison wrote the graphics and evils of slavery without discretion because she wanted to give the accurate historical terror that slavery was. 

- Chronicle of a Death Foretold helps the audience understand the age old ideal of honor but in the context of Latin America, and in Colombia. As readers, the idea of honor in historical writing is nothing new, however the specific type of honor that is identified with Latin America is something newer to the literature audience, and it gives a glimmer of view of the similarities and differences of honor in Latin America compared to other places. We also get to see how the communities in Latin America deal with sexism. How it is accepted, embraced and also how it is combated in covert ways, sometimes even in subconscious ways. The detriments of marianismo and machismo on a culture, and on an individual, are displayed thoroughly throughout the book and they showcase how this idea of purity and masculinity runs deep in the soul of the culture of Colombia.
