It was a harsh time and that is important to have knowledge about. This book contains definitions of strong words. This is a perspective from the mistreated side.

My ideal textbook for social studies would be talking about the views from everyone from the past. It would be a progressive way of teaching history. Rather than the patriotic view that has been pushed for so long. The text book would talk about how poorly all the native american people were treated. Along with, the conditions that slaves lived in. Or how women during the time were disregarded and still treated like property.

My ideal Social Studies textbook would have combination of traditional and progressive views. I think it would be cool to have one side of the book be the traditional "white" perspective and the other side have the diverse perspective. This would show students the different narratives in history. I would use a lot of primary sources from the lesser known figures in history to help shape the narrative of the time period. I also would love to have pullouts and envelopes that held documents or artifacts. Or a digital version that took students on virtual field trips.

My ideal textbook would be a textbook about the outdoors, a Physical education textbook. It would have easy access to all kinds of outdoor activities and how to find them and use them. It would also help students identify all kinds of plants and animals in nature. It would give guidance on how to be a respectful steward of the outdoors and nature. This would be a more progressive view, encouraging students to move their bodies and be active how they feel best fit. It would make the outdoors seem less intimidating and it would be an encouraging and postive self talk textbook. It would have sections on nature, outdoor activities, and also a place to record what the students participate in outside and how they felt doing that.

It would involve both pictures and words. However, the words would be in large easy to read print. If the pictures had words, there would be a section, with the words written out, so they would be easier to read. The textbook would also suggest games, that teachers could do, in order to keep their students engaged and learning.

If I were to write a history textbook it would definitely be a progressive textbook that would have lot of words and art in there. I would not leave a single detail out or hide any harsh facts. I want the stone cold truth being told and taught to students becasue nothing benefits them by lying and taking things out of the curriculum just because it seems too bold for them to learn. Thats life, life is harsh and bold sometimes. I would have a lot of historic art in my textbook becasue it plays important rolls on how we know certain things. I mean before people were writing books to tell these stories they were painting them on walls and being able to take those and have kids learn what they mean is crutial

I would do this so that the readers understand where someone who learned it differently is coming from. I would have a lot of diagrams and pictures for visual learners, while also having it be very colorful and highlight key points in the textbook as well and have an overview of information for each section. I would make sure all points of view are represented in addition to a diverse group of authors of the textbook So that it is not one person's perspective on the topic, but rather multiple opinions and views.

My textbook would include the history of music starting from the beginning with not notes, but rhythms that stemmed from our own pulses. This then would transfer to singing as drums being used as ceremonial practices to speak to the gods. This would be to show that music long ago was thought to be the purist form of speaking so groups then would use music to speak to the gods. This would transfer over to more modern artists we hear about for example Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven, as well as the music ties to religious beliefs like Christianity, and their rules against using specific chords and triads that were deemed evil. This would then lead to the Americas and the influence of the blues in the south. As white plantation owners would ban the use of a drum because they could be used to communicate. Many artists were given a guitar and the free moving beats that were played on the guitar as if it were a drum. Influential figures like Charlie Patton would be featured. As well we would talk about the English and their rise in rock and roll defining an entire generation of music. Bands like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, etc. this leads to many bands which would be covered in the modern era like Metallica and nirvana, but also the start of rap from the RnB side of the 80s.
